Friend lost her baby...

Just got a call tonight that a friend (casual friend that goes to the Karate Dojo my Dh and Sarah go to) lost her baby with only 6 weeks to go.

Apparantly it got tangled in the umbilical cord..... I feel horrible. I don't talk to her often but have spent time with her at parties for the karate studio and last time we were together was before Christmas. She was so excited as this was her first baby. She is in her late 30's so she was happy to finally be getting started after having a little trouble getting pregnant in the first place.

Please send some healing thoughts her way as it will be a hard time for her now....

These kinds of things make me hurt pretty bad....

Focus on the Family just advertised a new book to help families deal w/ neonatal loss. Check out their www.fotf.org

Also, Jack Hayford also has a great book too: I'll hold you in Heaven. This book really helped me to get through some very rough days.

It might be a good idea to put the "due" date on your calendar so you can send her a card to let her know that her little one WAS NOT forgotten & you haven't forgotten her either.

Oh my, how very, very sad. I lost my long awaited first baby at 3 months and was absolutely devastated, I can't even imagine how she must feel being so far along. My heart is breaking for her and her DH.
