Friend arriving day later. How do we handle DDP?

I tried to post this a few minutes ago and it didn't post. So if this is a duplicate I'm sorry.

Here's the situation: I had two ressies. One for myself only, arriving 9/30 at the boardwalk in standard room (waitlisted BWV). Then another for myself and my BFF arriving 10/1 in a boardwalk view room. She's coming a day later.

NOW this morning, I have 1 reservation. Waitlist came in last night. Happy for that!

But here's the question: We're purchasing the DDP. I don't want to purchase it for my friend until she arrives. Will MS understand and allow this? Or am I going to have to purchase for us both regardless of her being there? Any thoughts or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately if you now have only one room reservation, then you must buy the dining plan for both of you for the full reservation. There is no way to have a partial dining plan for any guest other than having separate room reservations. But you can use the extra credits.

For adults, the regular (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per night) plan is $60.64 per night per person in 2014.

Have you used the dining plan before? Credits are not assigned so that a certain number must be used per day. They are pooled and any person registered can use any of the credits at any time. So you and your friend may be able to use the extra credits for a signature restaurant or an extra meal.

Thanks for your help. Yes...I've used the plan. I have explained to my friend what happened. I'm sure we'll use the extra credits.
