I love it! I grew up in Nebraska and never had okra. Went to college at Oklahoma State...tried it in the cafeteria and LOVED it. My friends used to tease me because on okra night I ate only okra!

We love it too! We love it so much that it wins over french fries in my house.

YAY!!

LOVE IT!:cloud9: Ooh..and add in some fried yellow squash too..YUM!

I don't like okra on it's own, but I love it fried. I'm Southern though, so I'll pretty much eat anything if you fry it.

Mmm...yummy! That is the way I like it! Or Fried and eaten with mashed potatoes and fresh corn! My family loves it!

Now, I know what is for dinner tomorrow!!

This is the first year we have not had a garden. So, I have to buy my okra at the market. Still fresh enough though. Okra shouldn't be slimy. Ick. I could not eat slimy okra!!

I soak it in milk for a while then dip in egg and flower then in corn meal and fry delicious.

Love it...and it is the only veggie my DS6 will eat. We love it and yes we are from the South, born and raised!

My husband says the 14th commandment is Thou shalt fry okra!! Definately a yay at our house.

Okra...in any way, shape, or form...BLECH!!!:scared:
My dad (from Durham, NC) likes it. I, however, was born and raised in Southern CA and cannot stand the slimy stuff. Sorry. But, that is what makes us all unique. Enjoy your okra ried okra is NOT slimy. Overcooked okra is slimy and is good for thickening gumbo.

I like fried okra, but the way I like it best is stewed(when it's still really small) with onions, tomatoes, peppers and a little salt and pepper. MMMMMM!!!!! I also love it pickled-great in a Bloody Mary:thumbsup2 .

My kids all love fried okra, but my daughter was eating it once and bit into a piece instead of eating the whole thing. She started screaming, "Mommy! There's something GREEN in my fried okra!" :rotfl2:

Ummmmm, yes, dear, that would be the OKRA part. :rolleyes1

Yay on taste, nay on healthy!!! Serve sprinkled with a bit of hot sauce...:goodvibes
