I've never had it there, but I've had it plenty of other places.

It's exactly what it sounds like:

You take a VERY well frozen "ball" of ice cream, dip it/roll it/coat it in a batter (a sweetened tempura batter is often used, but I've seen batters using cornflakes and/or cookie crumbs, too), and drop it in a VERY HOT oil fryer for about 10 to 15 seconds.

Pull it out. The outside fried, the inside stays nice and cold. It's sorta like the principal for baked alaska: Cook it long enough for the outside to cook/brown but quick enough so the inside stays frozen.

It's good stuff!

There's a Mexican restaurant here at home that has it and I always get it for dessert! They drizzle honey and chocolate syrup and whipped cream and a cherry....soooo yummy! :cloud9:

Is Typhoon Lagoon the only place for get fried ice cream, anyone know?

You can also get fried ice cream at the funnel cake kiosk outside of the American pavilion in Epcot.

This is a great thing to know thank you :) I shall be having this when I go, at either location. I still want to see a picture lol Really curious now!:surfweb:

Wow I was unaware that Fried Ice Cream was sold anywhere on WDW property....that is why I love the DIS so much :disrocks: I haven't had a fried ice cream in years....we aren't going to TL in December, however, you can bet that I will be at the kiosk in Epcot :thumbsup2:love:

We do Typhoon Lagoon every summer, I've never seen Fried Ice Cream, I wonder if it's new? I've had it in restaurants with the crust made out of corn flakes, sugar and cinnamon. I'll have to be on the look out for it next time we go.

Personally, I can't make it past the warm, baby donuts w/ chocolate sauce. at the entrance

So I ate the fried ice cream at the American Pavillion you can't use a snack credit :( But it is worth paying for out of pocket. I enjoyed it very much. On the day I was there it was so hot outside. I highly recommend trying it.

The Japanese restaurants in my university's collegetown serve these, but with green tea ice cream. So good!

I do believe that the fried ice cream is sold on The Boardwalk as well.

Wow this is great to know! Just yesterday I was telling hubby about Fried Ice Cream!! Saw it on the Food Network and told him I would LOVE to try this & living in NYC we don't see it...so he asked if they had it at Disney since we will be heading out there in 8 days it will be a stop we must make!!
