being from the Maine area with good access to Lobsters and clams...how do you like your clams......I know alot of people that do not know a clam has a belly and do not actually come as a clam strip.....I love all parts of the clams and could eat my weight in them ...how about you all..

clams with or without bellies

Here in Indiana we only get frozen or the one's that come in cans. You guys are so lucky to get fresh seafood. If you had to eat what they serve in Indiana you would go "bleah"I hate it.:earsboy: :sunny:  :teeth: :earsgirl:

Either way if fried.................
steamers with really huge bellies kinda gross me out...sometimes....

I WANT LOBSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!RIGHT NOW!!!!

Fried clams with bellies please!

:bounce: :bounce:

I LOVE fried clams and oysters too. When I was in Vero Beach recently I had fried oysters two days in a row. Here, along the Mass and NH seacoast we have plenty of clam shacks. One night I drove over to Woodman's in Essex, MA just for fried clams and onion rings. Yummy!

I am really not a seafood eater, but love fried popcorn shrimp without the tails. Do you get to eat that up northeast, too?

I was in Panama City, FL and ordered popcorn shimp and they had the tails! I had never seen that. It was at Captain Anderson's

Without bellies for me, please with lots of tarter sauce. Hold the fries and extra onion rings. Yum! Clean oil is essential to good clam strips.

Love friend clam strips with cocktail sauce, Oh brother, I wish I was having that for supper. I guess being from new England is the reason why I thought the clam bake at beach club, to put it blumty, SUCKED!:D

I like them either way, with cocktail sauce. I just got back from a week in Maine last night, I had some yummy ones with bellies of course.

Just clam strips here! Never tried the bellies. My Dad says they are the best though. ALthough I Love scallops so if they are similar there's still hope.

Just came back from Maine. Never get any seafood DH HATES it!!!! So we stopped at Burger King. Yummy!!!!

But I agree with the previous posters If your from this neck of the woods it's very hard to compare the seafood to anywhere else?

OH YUMMY!!!! I love clam strips...we have a GREAT seafood place called Clam Haven about 3 minutes from here. No fried foods for me anymore...well, maybe every once in a while. If we have steamers...oh excuse me steamahs...DS eats the bellies and I eat the rest...with LOTS of butter!

Without the bellies please!!!

Although I haven't had clams since I got food poisoning from clams with bellies at Legal Seafood!

bellies!!! the best place i've had fried clams (belly style) was in an oceanside restaurant in Provincetown on the Cape. they were DELICIOUS!!!

MmmmmmmmmmmMmmmmmmmmmm

I love them clams!!!!!!!!!! Give them to me fried please!!!!!!!!!!

OK Humor me, I'm originally from Indiana. I've had a lot of seafood but I have no idea what the belly is. Could you give me a hint...

I love fried oysters and fried clams but I have no idea if I've eaten a belly or not;)

Bellies...and while I realize those without bellies are still considered clams but no self respecting New Englander would eat them. They are like fried rubber bands. :)

WITH BELLIES!!!

We are fortunate to have a restaurant in New Smyrna Beach called the Boston Fish House (I think that's the name!) that serves Ipswich Clams. YUM!! They are awesome! I think everything in this place is fried, but who cares! They have a wonderful menu, the price is right and it makes living in FL easier (we miss our Maryland crab cakes though!:() ;)

With the bellies if they're small. Best place for small-bellied, Ipswich clams - The Clam Box in Ipswich. Out of this World!!!!
