Hi guys,

We're staying at the All Star Music resort and my wife is insulin dependant, and we wanted to know if the rooms have a fridge so she can store her insulin (and maybe some beers for me - which is almost as important!)

Cheers in advance

As far as I'm aware fridges in the Allstars are not standard, but you can request one at a fee, lots of people need a fridge for medication and beer;-)

If there is a medical reason why you need a fridge, it will be provided free of charge :thumbsup2

You just need to ask at check-in and show them a copy of her prescription (or the medication) and they will waive the charge. Just be aware that sometimes you can receive a very small (specifically for medicine) fridge which literally will only have room for the medication and maybe a couple of tins of pop.

Are room fridges not standard at all resorts anymore? I know they weren't, but then they were - or at least until the recall. Did that change when they removed all those fridges?

I'd like to know too, because I just checked on MDE (site) and hotels no longer have the fridge in the ammenity list, (checked values and moderates)

As far as I know, there has been a free fridge in every hotel room since march 2012 and there sure was a few months ago (even after the recall)
has it changed ?

Had Joh not posted, I wouldn't have thought to question it. I have only followed POFQ as that is relevant to me and by the end of the summer/early Fall last year I understood that all rooms where fridges had been removed had had them replaced.

I can't understand why the values would not have too. Surely if there was a fault and a voluntary recall, the supplier must have covered the replacement costs? I'm guessing. I really don't know any more than you.

I've just checked on portorleans.org because André keeps his site right up to date all the time and POFQ had fridges in all rooms by October 19th last year. Riverside at that time was not yet complete but it looks like all their rooms had replacment fridges before the end of the year.

I wonder if Disney removed this from the amenities lists of all affected resorts and hasn't got round to adding it back again? Disney does not necessarily have the most up to date website for their own resorts and parks :scratchin

Just a heads up for a great pouch that keeps any insulin you have to carry about cool - The frio (www.friouk.com). We use these always now and have found them great, My eldest daughter is about to use one at a surf camp in Portugal this summer as she will not have access to any fridge. They can be used to maintain the temp for many days-in both extreme hot and cold climates (useful if traveling in hurricane season or to Caribbean islands when power cuts can happen).
