Fridges Coming To Values!!

I hate to burst your bubble, but they aren't getting fridges, they are getting beverage coolers.

Several sites have stated they are refrigerators, for some unknown reason. Many people think "beverage cooler" is a Disney buzz word for fridge, but it isn't. It is exactly that; it does nothing more than keep beverages cool and they use them on the cruise ships.

Actually, I'm happy to report you're wrong! I mean yes, that was the report in January, but apparently Disney changed their minds and installed Mini fridges. This is the email that went out to CMs today:

From time to time, we evaluate our offerings to ensure we are providing the best experience for our Guests. As a part of that effort, we are installing refrigerators in all of the Guest rooms at Disney’s All-Star Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort for complimentary use for our Guests. We anticipate this project to be complete by the end of April.

So yes, it's refrigerators, not beverage coolers. They probably realized that most people would try and put things that needed to be refrigerated and it would spoil, thereby causing some kind of lawsuit, so fridges it is!!!

i'm so excited that they'll have some sort of beverage cooling/refrigeration type thing in the rooms! My friends and I for our next trip were debating if we needed the fridge or not, especially if they would charge, but if they just come with the rooms now this is even more awesome. Granted all we were going to put in there were beverages anyways, but its something!

The building permit was just pulled last week for POP, and the work just started today.

My response about them being in ALL the rooms was in response to the person who was told on the phone they are in ALL rooms at the ASMo resort. (i think maybe it was Music, or sports... )

Hopefully this will be a normal installation in the AOA little mermaid standard rooms. I need my snacks!

They should update their website. It still states you have to rent a fridge, at least as of this afternoon it did.

I would assume they wouldn't update the website until the installation is complete because then they would have to provide free fridges to anyone that complained and Im sure as of now they do not have enough fridges to do so . I would look to see the change once we have word installation is complete

I'm excited for our May trip too - we usually bring a small fridge down with us - if they do install actual fridges it's one less thing to bring!

This makes me happy! We'll be getting 2 rooms at a value this December, it will be nice to have 2 & not have to pay for them. I had planned on only renting 1 but 2 will be awesome with all 6 of us.

You are correct; they learned their lesson on the POR refurbishment.

They updated the website to Queen beds before the refurbishment is completed; and there were several very unhappy people who showed up with the print-out stating they were owed queen sized beds. One woman posted that she expected to be upgraded to deluxe for her troubles. We thought that was a bit extreme for six more inches of bed width.

On the main sits, under the room amenities, it is now saying that mini-fridges are available (with no indication that they need to be rented/requested)

I REALLY hope that there is one in our room at ASMo next month, since we'll be there before it's meant to be completed (even though I've read on here where some people said that ASMo is already complete, but I've not seen or heard of any first hand accounts, so I'll believe it when I see it!)

I just talked to my parents who are at POP right now, and they had a new entertainment stand with fridge installed two days ago. I'd have them send me a pic since they have my iPhone with them, but they can barely text me with it

Thats wonderful news so just get them to take a pic and post when they return LOL! My neighbors are there right now also they should be home by monday we'll have to ask them of their experience
