Fridge Swap?

I've contacted a number of fridge swaps that are going on on the budget board and none, zero, zip, nada, zilch of them are willing to let me join since we're staying at the fort. So my question to you is does anyone want to get together and do a fridge swap for all of us lonely tent campers with no fridge? Just wanting to know if anyone is interested at all or if I'm by my crazy self wanting to tent camp and have a fridge.

Well I'm sure you wouldn't even want to use a fridge from a bunch of Fortists!

Since we camp all over and not just The Fort, we own our extra frig and carry it with us on all our camping trips. I believe this is the same for all camping families. This idea has been suggested before and this was the consensus.

Sharing with other Fort Fiends would be a pleasure if we didn't use it all of the time.

alright. I guess it's safe to say that no one is interested in a swap. Guess we'll just have to figure something else out.

A frig swap mostly happens at the Value resorts. Someone purchases a small frig then online makes arrangements to pass it on to someone else coming to the same resort for a fee. Some of them have been going around so long they are now feeless. If you are interested visit the budget board here on the Dis.

Might be more of a call for an air conditioner swap, here on the FW board. For those who tent camp in the summer. Something to consider.

Yup, all the fridge swaps are currently for the value resorts. (And they can't be moved somewhere else) There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest for a fridge swap here for the fort. We'll be bringing a cooler and loading up with ice.

The conversion van we used before we got the camper van didn't have a fridge so we used one of those plug in coolers. WOW! Those things are great! They are just as cold as a fridge and more portable. Ours plugged into the cigarette lighter port but also had an adapter so we could just pick it up, carry it in to a hotel/someone's house etc. and plug it into an outlet.

Also came in handy when our fridge at home took two days to repair. It was the size of a large regular cooler and also had a "heat" switch to keep hot foods hot. I think we paid $50 on sale at Wal-Mart.
