fridge swap, what is it?

This is where resort guests pass along a dorm fridge from guest to guest to use. Sometimes a fee is involved, sometimes its free. Either face to face trade or leave it at baggage services with the name of the next guest on it. Big money saver if you're at a value, need a fridge, but don't want to pay Disney an arm and leg for it. LOTS and LOTS of threads on this.

But beware, I was signed up for a swap last August and the person in front of me never bothered to check it in to baggage services and the fridge got lost somewhere.

My swap has been going since 2007 and it's success is all due the swappers. Swappers have to commit to following through with it or else the fridge will get lost or thrown out. We recently lost our fridge and due to a very kind swapper who donated a new fridge we are back on track.

Swaps on the DIS are supposed to be free. I'm not sure about the other sites (TGM?) though.
