Fridge Status Check-in *SEE FIRST POST

We are at POR in a royal room. There is a fridge but it is unplugged and it has a note on it not to use it. Definitely a bummer. The ice machines have been empty a couple of times since lots of people are filling their coolers. We tried to call for one but they said they only are giving ones to people with medical needs. Oh well. Hopefully it will be resolved next time. Thank goodness for refillable mugs!!

Did they give you a $15 a night credit?

We are here at Poly right now in a standard room..and we have a fridge in our room. We didn't have to ask for one, it was there when we arrives. It appears to be the old style, so maybe they haven't changed them out yet at the Poly?

Great news! There's hope for us in having a fridge when we check-in TOMORROW at the Poly! And it's my understanding that not ALL fridges are being replaced, only certain models that had the problem. So it could be that your room had a fridge that wasn't included in the replacement. I'll check back in tomorrow when we get there and update.

I, too would like to know the procedure for reimbursement. I understand you must "request" a fridge to get a credit for not having one. When is this request made? On arrival?

MY TA said to request it at check in. He said he has tried adding requests to some reservations but he's been told that all rooms come with refrigerators. it seems that not all CMs are aware of the issue.

That stinks big time if people have coolers as a substitute and can't even get ice.

Thanks for starting/maintaining this thread, we will be at POFQ in late October and hope the refrigerators have been replaced there by then.

I was in Contemporary Garden Wing last week and my room did not have a fridge. Others in my party had a working fridge in their room, but I don't know if it was new or old.

Were they GW too?

Where are you staying? I don't want to be in the hotel you are checked in when the fire starts while you are at the park. I especially do not want to be among one of the deaths you caused either.

Checked in at YC CL last Thursday and we do have a fridge. I did request one. I have heard other people say they do not have a fridge.

You're statistical chances of a plane crash are higher on you're trip down to WDW than one of these catching fire again. How many nights/years/resorts have they been functioning again without but 1 issue issue? If the chances were as good as you're fear is leading you to believe Disney would have hired teams to rip them out immediately. Not wait until a guest checks out...

But who wants to take that chance. Disney has stated there is a concern and they are addressing it. As a guest of the resort, not an Owner, you should respect that determination by Disney there is a possibility of fire.

We stayed at CBR July 13th thru the 20th. I was told at check in that my room did not have a fridge but my daughter's adjoining room did have a fridge. When we got to our rooms (in Jamaica) we both had working fridges.

As promised - just checked into the Poly - standard room Tokelau longhouse. We have a working fridge! Yay!

Just confirming here that we checked in to POR this morning and no working fridge. We were put on a request wait list but none became available. Ice machines were working and we were able to get some for our cooler.
