Hi i just have been told i will have to take a shot every day for my bones.
When we travel to WDW will the have a fridge for my medicine? Does any one else take a shot for their bones? Thank you for the info.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you are staying at a moderate or higher level resort there will automatically be a refrigerator in the room. If you are at a value resort make usre that reservations is aware you need a refrigerator for storage of medice; there is no charge for this.

If the shots have to be given at a time when you are in the parks, you will be able to store the medication at each park's first aid.

Thank you for the info, It's good to know that there is a refridgerator available, we propularly will be staying at a value resort. The giving of the shots is a little over wheming I just stated doing this. Any info on how I would travel with needles on the airplane. Thanks again

If you are in a value resort, you may be given either a dorm size refrigerator or a smaller one, about the size of a shoebox.
Air travel with needles is not a problem; there are some link to information about air travel in post #15 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Hello

I am a type one diabetic and I take insulin it also has to be kept refriderated.
I discovered and awesome product called a frio pack. Here is a link to there website http://www.friouk.com/buy/ it activates with Water and stays cold for 72 hours, then you just activate it again. I use for weekend trips, cottage, camping when ever im not @ home. It works really well.

As for traveling with needles Ive never had a problem but I carry a letter from my doctor and a copy of the RX never had to show it though

There are several of us here who use the Frio packs. In the US they can be ordered from www.coolerconcept.com. However, they are still not a substitute for a refrigerator for more than a couple of days.

this question is off the subject, but I noticed all your trips to WDW and was wondering what was your favorite resort, and what is your best tip. Thank you

A frio pack would help with travel though, even though you need a refrigerator in your room to keep it at the correct temperature.

I'm not Cheshire Figment, but if you are looking for a Moderate resort, my fav is Port Orleans Riverside. It has a very nice food court.

Thats what I thought. Does the refrigerator have a frezzer?, I wiil need to frezze the packs for the travel home. Do I need a note from the Dr, stating why I need yje refrigerator?

This will be our 2nd trip, but the 1st for our 2 1/2 grandson, there will be 6 adults, we had stayed at ASMU in 2006, noticed moderate rooms for 109$
cant decided if to get a code for a room, and pay for dinning. We are looking for Sept 2009, had hopeing for free dining, sorry if this is place to talk about this, I just beeb think about a mod erate resort, Thanks again

If you are staying at a Moderate or Deluxe, the refrigerators are like dorm refrigerators - small with one door. When you open the door, there is a small door to a very small freezer section. Those aren't usually cold enough to freeze ice cream, but may get your freezer pack cold enough.

If you are at a Value Resort, you may get a refrigerator like that or one about the size of a shoe box that can't be used for freezing.

The freezer compartments may or may not really freeze. If you end up with a dorm-size refrigerator, turn it up as high as it will go the night before you check out, and use it for JUST the cold-packs and maybe some water bottles. If you get the med-fridge, I have no idea how cold that gets.
