if a fridge is requested for meds, is it smaller than a standard one? i'm probably going to need one but i'm stopping at the grocery store on the way & want to know if i can fit other items, i.e. milk, water, etc. (i'll be at the Pop).
People have posted about 2 types of refrigerators for medications. One is a dorm size refrigerator - a little less than counter height.
The other kind of refrigerator people have posted getting is about the size of a large shoebox.
I don't know how it's determined which one you get. It may be that some resorts have more of one or the other type of refrigerators.
The fridge is no different then the others. It's like a dorm size or smaller. I hear at moderate & deluxe they are complimentary now, but I had to pay $11 a day and they didn't seem to care that I needed it for my meds. I was a bit put off by that attitude. They did agree to refridgerate it for me if I didn't want to pay??? Kind of a hassle if you ask me. It should fit the smaller drinks no problem. I think the side on the door can accommodate a tall skinnier quart of milk?
I've always gotten the dorm size fridge & never been charged for it, never had any issues with it at all. The resorts have always been so helpful with providing the fridge & cold storage for my meds when we have arrived before a room is ready.
I am happy that fridges are now being installed in all mod & deluxe rooms, then I don't have to wait for one to be brought up & for it to cool off to hold my meds....
I'm glad they never tried to give me a shoebox sized one, my meds wouldn't fit in one that small.....
Leota your lucky, last 7 years in a row, ALWAYS CHARGED ME AND I HAVE THE RX AND ALL MY MEDS IN ORIGINAL CONTAINERS AND STILL $$ I EVEN TOLD THEM OTHERS GOT IT FREE AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THAT POLICY AND NEVER DID. DH WAS TOO EMBARASSED TO ARGUE.
Wow! That's awful. We've been going nearly every year (sometimes 3 times a year) since 1993 & never once been hassled about it at all. It's pretty much standard in the hospitality industry to provide neccessary refridgeration for medical purposes. I used to travel alot for work & have never had a problem obtaining a refridgerator for meds.
that's bizarre. I'm staying at Pop and they are giving me my med fridge free of charge. they did say, however, that it is smaller than a normal fridge.
