Flying down today (woo hoo!). We have FOP FPs in AK for Friday night, so we won't have access to using any FPs all day until after 5 or 6pm. Friday is a party day in MK but with an 8am open (non-EMH), and my boys insist on staying at the resort all morning to watch some sort of live 2018 World Cup drawing of the group stage country business. So it will just be me heading into MK. I think this will be the first time I'm in a park solo--no kids or husband, just me. I'm downright giddy.
Curious how essential the 8am arrival is on a party day. Crowds will be up in general this week compared to previous years, I think. We've been going this week for years and MK has never opened before 9 am unless it was EMH. I don't know if I'll get there before 8 am for rope drop from Boardwalk, but I think the latest I'd arrive would be 8:40. Will I be able to get much done, no fast passes, starting a bit late on a party day? I don't do Space Mt or Splash Mt. Would like to do SDMT if I can do it stand by in under 40 or so min. I'd like to meet talking Mickey, too, and then a smattering of rides like HM, Pirates, Little Mermaid. I will need to head out of the park at 11:00 or 11:30 to meet my boys. So is it worth it to go that morning for 2.5 hours with no FPs?
Also, if anyone has any special recommendations that are nice to take in while in MK without kids pulling you in a dozen different directions, now's my chance--bring on the suggestions!
Thanks!
