Freshman in the house!

This fall i'll be a freshmen...in college!!! Woot my graduation is tonight!!! Get my degree and i am out of there!!!! I am so excited!!!I hated high school, worst years of my life, well senior year wasn't that bad, i had the worst teachers, my class mates were bad, hallways over crowded, and rumors spread about me.

Don't worry you'll do fine, just don't do anything stupid!

You will be the little "babies" who side the hallways for the upperclassmen...beware, my friends!!

Oh and, don't worry! Freshmen year will be a blast!! :rolleyes

(I'm just kidding about the first part lol)

NO you are not kidding. I know you are not kidding!

Well I was looking at the threads I had subscribed to and I didn't remember this one so I read my post and other posts and thought i would post again!
Well Marching band has started up again.. except this year our show is roman so its cool! Yay.. I think I like being an upperclassman rather then a freshman..:) Not that my freshmen year wasn't good.. it was.. and this year is going to be much more of a challenge as I stated before in this thread but hey Im not last in line for everything! High school is so much better then Junior High if i may be so bold as to say so myself.. :D ( Especially when your done with p.e. :woohoo: - shivers at the nightmares of my unathletic self..- good thing marching band counts as a p.e. waver! Ok im done now.. haha

Started at a brand new school in a brand new district. I knew a grand total of 0 people.

Freshman Year, hmmm....

The times I wish I could forget:
- Knowing absolutely no one - not a single person
- Bus ride to and from school - enough said
- Terrified that I couldn't make it in the Honors classes.
- Lonely lunches the first few weeks - later filled by club meetings and friends

The times I will forever remember:
- Band - formed great friendships, and - hmm - found some boyfriends too. (And learned the life-lasting skill of changing from uniform to street clothes on a band bus without anyone seeing a thing!)
- Elated that I could gain respect from others by doing well in Honors classes.
- Interact Club - At lunchtime meetings, found my "home" at school, built confidence, formed a bond with teacher / advisor that would last 20 years until he passed away last year (honestly one of the greatest people to ever be in my life).

Freshman year has it's rough times, but looking back, it was a pretty good year.

Ah freshman year, don't be short. (knows from experience)

preach it it was a good year for me i started my freshman year in public school and finished ( note started fresh from jan.) and became homedschooled and finished a week early than public :teeth: :teeth:

I don't know why people hate freshman year so much. It was my favorite year! I found middle school was much harder! I guess if there was "freshman grilling" going on I wasn't part of it. Good luck, freshman! :thumbsup2

no i didn't like my freshman year my algabra teacher hated me :( how could someone hate me im a big lovable guy

I am awaiting that time of freshmen year 1 more year of middle school I have 16 feild trips this year including 1 to Washington D.C. (tickets atr 500$) I will be fund raising alot lol Why can't they let you save more up and take a team trip to WDW lol

i hate being a freshman and the person above me you have to save $500 we had to save almost $3000 for dc. and i hated that trip. :headache: TO boring and a meannnn tour guide. well back to freshman year i get picked on by the seniors and the juniors and sophmores who have freshman lockers block mine. :furious: ahh i hate it. enjoy your 8th grade year. :3dglasses

My school starts at 8:30. I guess I have nothing to complain about, since ya'll go so early :)

Being a junior is awesome. But freshman year wasn't that bad. :teeth:

i hope everyones school year is going good...so far, or will be.....college is so much better than high school!

As of 7:20 or something near that I'm officially a freshman! yup woot! :cool1: now this is funny.. i'm a freshman.. but i have to go to middle school tomorrow... :rotfl:

btw i won't be playing vmk all summer long like i planned because i have to take a class i'm going to miss next year because i'm taking full honors so i have to go to the high school's summer school and my parents lied and said the course is only one hour every day for days a week but it's actually from 7:30 till 1! that's earlier than normal school time!! !!!

uh.............. i'm confused............. so you go to normal school, then take an extra class at night?????????? i just started jr. high and witnessed my first fight today. for the cryin out loud, it's only the second day!!!! i can't understand why there's so many fights, i mean, i'm in the school that's turned out the last like five validvictorians and secidvictorians (can't remember what that word really is, but it's the second smartest person). i'm in full honors, but of course home ec and health aren't, so those classes are kinda scary (people are kinda mean and they obviously just don't get the curiculum- i bet you're wondering how i'm in full honors and i can't spell........... so am i!)..............................

I have a tip for you freshman...

DON'T wait until senior year to take the classes you don't care too much for!! I don't like PE (I know, I must be weird, lol) and I waited until my senior year to take it and how I dread it now. ugh. I also waited until senior year to take an applied art class..(ex: buisness, media, technology etc.). It seriously limits your available electives. I mean, if you aren't required for a class, you can obviously choose what you want to take.

Also, start thinking about what you want to do after high school. It will be VERY helpful knowing what you want to get into, if you decide to go to college, during your junior and senior years when you are looking for colleges. It is progressive...during your freshman year, get a few ideas of what majors you're looking into...during your sophomore year, narrow it down and try to decide what you want to get into...during your junior year, have a stable idea of the major and what you plan on doing with it so come the summer and fall of your junior into senior year, you'll have less trouble deciding what colleges you want (looking at the ones that specialize in the major you want).

DON'T spent ALL your time wrapped up in studies. You want a social life too, that's important lol. You also want to make sure you get involved with a lot. Colleges look at what services and activities you do in high school. You also want to get involved a lot so that you can graduate feeling accomplished and feeling that you successfully finished high school. :thumbsup2

Also, don't sit on your butt and go on the computer all the time.... :rotfl2: Like some one does....
