You guys have heard about this, right? How freshmans usually gain 15 pounds during their first year of college because of all the junk they eat.

I just have to say, this is so true. This morning in Sociology I saw 3 girls eating chocolate poptarts, 5-6 people eating fast food, the girl in front of me was munching on peanut butter ritz, and the guy behind me of eating chocolate chip cookies!

The food court is filled with pizza hut, chick fil a, mcdonalds & subway.

There's snack machines filled with chips and candy around every corner.

It's hilarious. I have never seen so many people eating so badly in my entire life.

That is all. :)

Wow.
How could they just eat so unhealthily like that?
Do they not care about their health at all?
I think it's disgusting how people can just let themselves get that way.

ive actually lost about 3 lbs

despite the fact that theres an awesome food court at college ;)

I've heard about sophomores gain the most weight in highschool.
I find that completely the opposite for me though.

So true! For me anyway.
I went from 98 pounds to like 105. lol
I could tell too, because all of my jeans were super tight on me. hahah
And I'm not gonna lie, I had a total ghetto booty last year so that's how I knew too...wait who am I kidding, I still do. lmfao!

I'm still 105 pounds, but I feel ALOT smaller than I did last year.

Does this count for high school Freshmen year also lol
I've ganged 10 pounds in the last 2 months
I dont have a clue why but I guess I have been eating very unhealthy lol
There a pop machine at every corner loaded with Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper
Theres a Dominos at my school so I seem to eat pizza daily lol
They say my schools not an open capus but you could leave at any second if you wanted to since were near a McDonalds, Haggens, Burger King etc...
Theres also a Star Bucks at are school... So I seem to get my daily drink lol
The food the lunch ladies serve isnt any better they bring in Alfys every day lol
Then they also bring in a bunch of other local restraunts everyday

Cause its america & nobody cares.
:headache:
Actually no. You find that you have no time to cook a healthy meal and unfortunately the only thing quick is fastfood. We have Chik-Fil-A, Panda Express, Burger King, Papa Johns, and some others that arent a chain.

You find though that all that gets old in the middle of your 2nd semester as a freshie. I'm so excited to get my own place with a kitchen and I can buy healthy and nutritious meals.

I gained about 5lbs my freshman year.

I don't see how this is true. I lost 20 pounds freshman year due to lack of money, stress and no time to eat.

I think it's the stress and having no time to eat. When some people are stressed, they eat. It's just something that calms people down.

It seems like I'm studying 24/7. I feel like I have no free time at all. So if you're running late for class and you know you need to eat something, it's just easy to grab a poptart. And it's just easier to grab a hamburger at the food court than trying to go off campus for lunch.

If you have, let's say, 2 or 3 finals the next day and you have to eat dinner. Wouldn't it be easier to just eat a burger and fries while studying?

It's all about convenience, I guess. Freshmen are overwhelmed and they have not yet learned to deal with the stress. It's not like they're just sitting around eating fried chicken all day, they're not 'letting themselves go'. They just have more important things to focus on.

I used to eat a lot my first semester, but now im eating normally.

I have 7 classes, but I chose my schedule in a way that I have no class on fridays so i can use that day to rest.

and my earliest class is 8:30,, so that way i dont feel rushed,

i used to pig out at the food court with burger king lol

i dont so much now haha

I think it's more true if you live on campus.
Closer to food that's not so great, closer proximity to other people with food and booze...

My brother doesn't live on campus anymore, and he bikes everyday to school and work when there's no snow on the ground. Walks a lot too, he lost weight, not gained it.

Wow, 7 classes? How many credit hours are each of your classes?

I'm a big stress eater. So, that might be a problem for me come college...

Bio and Chem are 4 credits

PreCalc is 2 credits
Bio and Chem lab are 0 credits, but I have each once a week, and each sessions is 3 hours long!

basically i take each class 2 times a week with each class lasting 1 30 mins XD
