So ... before I submit my order to Whole Foods Market delivery ... are there any places in/around Boardwalk, Dolphin, Swan and the Yacht/Beach Clubs where I could get a large serving of fresh, organic, veggie juice?

The core elements of this juice should be vegetable based with limited use of fruit. Thx!

wawawawaait.... does Whole Food Market deliver?

You are being funny, aren't you?

(The Starbucks in the Dolphin MIGHT carry the Odwalla juices - but they are probably too fruit based for what you want. And to the best of my knowledge there isn't a Jamba Juice nearby. I'd order to be sure - besides, its easier in the morning to grab something out of your own fridge than to hike over to the Swolphin - and we know that Disney isn't serving up organic veggie juices.)

How much does the delivery to WDW cost? I could email them or just ask you guys :)

This may change my ordering strategy. I usually use WeGoShop. I will still probably use them for trips that involve liquor, but since I am not drinking for the next 6-7 mo, as long as DH has his beer he can make due with the Woodford in the OL.

I have been trying to feed the babies organic (and the unborn baby via me) so this is a fantastic option.

I noticed some fresh veggie juices at Fresh buffet in the Dolphin last month. I suspect that ordering from Whole Foods will be cheaper.

I keep hoping for the tide to turn! :D

I had heard of a juicing station somewhere at the Dolphin -- but my research yesterday fails to confirm if :
a) I can order "just juice" (the station appears to be part of a buffet service)
b) if the veggies are organic (I'm guessing not as they aren't advertised as such)

As for grabbing something from my own refrigerator being 'easier' -- not really. The juicing machine stored in my Owner's Locker is a fairly inefficient Centrifugal unit with messy clean-up. I'm toying with ordering Suja or BluePrint bottled juices -- but I'm not thrilled by the techniques used for preservation (HPP).

Naked, Odwalla and Jamba don't meet my needs.

Yeah, I was assuming you'd order a bottled juice and not trying juicing in a dvc unit. And if something like Naked or Odwalla isn't going to meet your needs, you'll probably need to go for the Suja or Blueprint.

I would try to call between the breakfast and lunch rushes and ask someone who works there. Sorry, I don't recall if the juice is organic.

Will Whole Foods juice veggies for you and create a bottled version of what you want?

Here is a list of Vegetarian/Vegan and Natural Food places in Orlando: http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/florida/orlando/ . You will probably need to rent a car to get to them.

one more whole foods q.... how do you know what to order, just compile a list from your local whole foods? I couldn't find a selection form on their site.

While they don't show a form, I find visiting the webpages of "Store Departments" (offered from the fly-out menu on left edge of the page) to be helpful. I type up my list in a basic email editor.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will try phoning the Dolphin tomorrow to see what I can determine. NoGo on bottling from WFM -- that idea goes against the nature of fresh juice, I'm afraid. (But thanks for the suggestion! Indeed, I do visit certain local WFM for fresh juice when I need an instant pick-me-up!)

I won't have a car for this trip -- but will certainly earmark that HappyCow site for the future. What a cool resource! I used a similar one two years ago to help me navigate the Vero Beach area. It helped me find a really cool, self service, CSA for produce: White Rabbit Acres.

On the whole, I'm pleased to say that sourcing organic veggies is getting easier every year and I've discovered new juice bars with increasing frequency. Seems the idea is growing! :yay:

I hope you find what you are looking for. However as a registered dietitian I am super curious about your diet regimen. Is this all you drink? Do you mind me asking why? I'm not being vicious, I just truly am curious. I try to stay current with the trends but I've never heard of only drinking organic veggie juice. Sorry to hijack your thread.

LOL, not much here to hijack! :) Thanks for the question!

In an effort to get plenty of veggies into my daily diet, I find that juicing provides the fastest, easiest-on-the-digestive-system, track of achieving this purpose. I'm influenced by texts written by or on Max Gerson, Norman Walker, William D. Kelley, Robert Young and others. I try to get 24oz of fresh veggie juice each day, mostly prepared at home using either a cold-press or masticating juicer, served in 8oz portions throughout the day. A single 8oz glass of juice carries the nutrients, enzymes and beneficial bacteria of 1-3lbs of vegetables (yield depends on juicer type; selection of veggies, etc.).

Veggie Juice vs Fruit Juice? I'm leaning towards the old line, "Eat your fruits; drink your veggies," taking advantage of the plant fiber to slow sugar absorption from the fruits.

Why only organic? Borrowed from article, 10 ways to cleanse the body of toxins with fresh juice:
One important note: If you are going to juice make sure the fruit is organic. When you juice conventional vegetables you are likely absorbing all the pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or genetically-modified organisms (GMO) stored in them. Because juices are so concentrated, your body will soak up those chemicals immediately. This information is particularly crucial if youre doing a cleanse. After all, if youre making the effort to enhance your health, you may as well do it right!
Is that all I drink? I also drink water, loose-leaf tea (mostly green, oolong or pu-ehr) and a little coffee (haven't shook that habit yet!). I don't drink soda (of any kind), alcohol, sugary drinks, etc.

Beyond the juicing, I try to eat 'sensibly.' I favor vegetables over meats - but not exclusively. I pick my way through the 'Clean 15/Dirty Dozen' list when dining out. I cringe a bit when faced with wheat-based options (breads/pasta) and will hunt out a salad, if possible. I still enjoy an occasional dessert. I ate way to much of everything over the holidays and have a few pounds to lose ... {grin}

The benefits of juicing, for me, have been incredible.
  • I lost 30 lbs over 18 months with simple diet modification: switched to black coffee (dropped the creamer addiction!), added the fresh veggie juice, decreased meal portions. I've kept that off for more than a year ... other than the few lbs gained this Christmas. (They'll be gone quite soon, I'm sure.)
  • My skin is GORGEOUS and my hair and nails are visibly improved.
  • I no longer suffer with swollen fingers or ankles when traveling by airplane or exercising on a hot day.
  • My BP is great.
  • My brain works faster. (Just gotta trust me on that one -- I don't suffer brain fog when I'm juicing.)
  • I don't bruise; inflammation is reduced. (I discovered this about 1 year after starting my juicing practice. My horse threw me so high into the air that I recall having time to look down to consider my landing (choosing sagebrush over cactus). I fell hard in a turtle position (on my back with legs/arms over me). Not a single bruise and very limited inflammation. My bounce-back period was mercifully brief.)
  • Very limited cold/flu symptoms -- even with lots of airplane travel and weather extremes.
  • I'm very, um, regular now. ;)
  • I have unbelievable energy (most of the time).
  • Etc, etc, etc.
Juicing? I'm a believer!

Edited to add a few related links/articles on juicing vegetables :

We'll save isolation (juicing) vs integration (blending via Vitamix/Blendtec) for a later discussion ... ;) Hope this addresses your questions w/out too many rabbit trails.

Thank you for the detailed response! I didn't have time to look through everything yet but it all seems very interesting. I am a big believer in doing what works for you (literally every body is different) and it sounds like you found something that has greatly improved your life. I love hearing these stories.
