Fresh at the Dolphin?

Has anyone had the buffet breakfast at Fresh recently? In June I read that several items had been removed from the buffet. They use to have mini bagels with specialty cream cheeses, several types of sausage, and potatoes with brie. I would like to eat there later this month, but if there are only regular items that you find at most buffets, it wouldn't be worth going to the Dolphin. TIA

We stayed at the Dolphin this past October and twice had breakfast/brunch at Fresh. It's FANTASTIC. They have everything, not just the standard stuff. I can't remember it all, but I sincerely doubt you'll be disappointed!

I'm going to be a voice of dissention on this one. We ate there in October too. It was fine--a good buffet. Fresh foods, interesting juices, but nothing spectacular or really out of the ordinary. It was like the buffet at any upscale restaurant. After reading the raves here, I was rather disappointed. But, to each his own. I'm glad we went. I had hoped it would be a favorite, but we won't be back. Enjoy whatever you decide.

I'm with you. It was okay, the food was good. But nothing really jumped out at me. I still miss the Spoodles breakfast buffet!

We ate at Fresh breakfast buffet this past weekend and I didn't think it was anything special either. My DH and DS found the juices to be odd...and the pastries and breads were just ok. I don't recall seeing any specialty bagels and there was only one type of sausage. For the price I was not impressed. For only a dollar more we could have eaten at Chef Mickeys and sad to say but I like the food better at Chef Mickeys! We won't try Fresh again either.

We loved Fresh. It was a must do each trip. But we were somewhat disappointed in October too. There used to be a great assortment of fresh fruit including bluberries, raspberries. This trip it was just your run of the mill melons and pinepapple. I ordered a plain pancake for my son rather than the special one of the day. It was premade and about the consistency of a frisbee. My DIL did have the specialy one and said it was good.

They do a nice job with the omelets and will make eggs anyway you like. There is also freshly carved meat and I didn't notice the bagels but they do have these small chocolate croissants that are wonderful. They serve Starbucks coffee and freshly squeezed oj. Personally I love the specialty juices.

I have asmtha and am allergic to some preservatives. I never worried about it at Fresh since I thought everything was supposed to be just that. Wasn't that the spiel when it opened? Well, I think something I ate in October had been treated which is not unusual at buffets. Anyway, I wheezed for a couple of hours and pretty much missed the am at Epcot. Got some tea and waited for my breathing to improve. So if we ever do go back I will certainly ask about preservatives before dining. Just a caution for any asthmatics out there.

I will say we have had wonderful service every time we've had breakfast there.
