Do frequent virgins recieve discounts on their holidays?

Also, if there is a discount, do you still get it even if you've been able to use the internet booking discount?

If you look at the Terms and Conditions on the Virgin Holidays website it does actually say the discounts CANNOT be used in conjunction with any other discounts, promotions or special offer, BUT I have actually combined discounts (Frequent Virgins 10% with special offers) in the past with no problems whatsoever.

You can use FV with hotel special offers ie book btween certain dates for a discount and also with early booking offers. What you CANNOT use FV with is Mega deals or combine it with on line discount ie the 5 or 10 % they offer if you book online or even the phone discount. I will also add you can only use FV by booking direct you can't go through a travel agent or similar. One thing I will say is book on line and then add your FV number to the comments at the bottom of the form so you get an additional 10% off car hire, excursions, flight upgrades which are on the booking. If you are not a FV but are able to become one as it is your 3rd holiday then book and after phone the FVC with your booking ref and the details of the two previous trips and apply to join, once they have your details they will amend the booking to show the discount.

has anyone actually been given a better/nicer room because they were a frequent virgin? id be interested to know if this really happens or is just an advertising ploy!

I think we got a better room in Santa Barbara this summer as it was huge. Two double beds, a large vanity area plus large bathroom and a huge balcony with great views of the mountain as it was a corner room. Looking at the hotel layout it looked to be one of the largest rooms available. The room we had in Carmel, again this summer, was lovely, top floor with huge balcony and sun loungers overlooking the pool. On checking the Carmel hotel in the brochure it never mentioned a balcony so I guess we got a little extra.
Also had a fab room in New York back in Feb, king bed as requested and breathtaking view out of the window of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building which looked so nice at night when lit up.
Oh nearly forgot but back in 2001 at WL requested, due to being our wedding anniversary, a king bed and got upgraded from Woods view to Courtyard with king bed and full bathroom. Then we had champagne arrive along with cookies and pretzels, and on getting back to the room on the first day a signed card from Mickey and Minnie with balloons. That made the holiday really special.
So unless we were lucky I think it helps.

Their policy is, you won't get a room upgrade unless you ask, and they have one available. You are not guaranteed anything upgraded, apart from the car,But you should get a kid's suite in a normal hotel. We were upgraded to a kid's suite in the Amerihost in Orlando a few years ago. We also had an upgrade to pool view in the Dolphin beach at St Pete's, we'd to pay extra on top of this for a beach view. We went to Orlando this christmas in a Virgin Villa, there were no real benefits.

Thanks very mch for the replies. It seems like its pot luck. Perhaps you stand more chance if you go out of season, which luckily we are!:wave2:
