Frequent Flyer Miles

Does anyone know why when I use the code for my freq. flyer miles the price of my rental goes up $25.?
How do you do it?
Also has anyone put their reservation on a visa credit card and then paid cash when you drop it off?

Many car rental companies now charge you an additional amount per day when you are requesting frequent flyer miles for your rental.

It shouldn't go up $25 for the mileage fee. Most rental car companies cap that at $2 per rental.

Yes you can pay cash when you return. Give yourself extra time as you will have to go inside and stand in line to pay. The rental car companies used to have a sepearte line for returns, but I don't think they do anymore. Don't forget you will need the milage and fuel level.

You have to play around with the codes and coupons. Some of them raise the base rate before you use the coupon. I always start with no codes or coupons then start adding and subtracting them until I get the best rate.
