Mornin' everybody...yesterday I fixed French Toast and sausage patties for myself and DH, really tasted good as we hadn't had that in quite awhile. This morning DH asks if we were having more this morning, I told him I didn't have enough eggs. He left to go to town to run some errands and I made French Toast and sausage for myself as I only had two eggs left, not the four it would have required to make it for BOTH of us. After I ate, I felt SO GUILTY!! :( And I ran around the house spraying with Lyson to try to "cover up" the cooking smells. Think he'll notice when he gets home...any minute now...??

LOL.. I've done that before. Yesterday I ate all the rest of the Dip that Chris and I made the night before. Chris said when he got home from work that all he was thinking about doing all day long was heating up the dip and digging in. So I looked around sheepishly and admitted to him that I was guilty. But then I had a rebuttal.... because he ate ALL the chocolate chip cookies that I had bought last grocery trip before I had any. So he wasn't too upset about the dip issue.

Always think of a good way to turn it around and make it their fault! LOL (J/J!!!)

:p

Gee, I'm a dumb one....I would have made it for my DH & I would have just drooled watching him eat it!!

Good for you!!

why didn't you have him pick up more eggs while he was running errands and then make enough for both of you when he got home?

Also, you could add a little milk to the two eggs and it will make them go further.

Oh that was so nasty
I just love it
it made me laugh so hard

Really? It seemed kind of a mean thing to do to me. :(

I wonder what everyone's reaction would have been had her DH cooked something for himself and didn't make anything for her?

Well, how many slices of french toast did it make? I'm thinking it made at least two.......you could have each had a slice.

Weren't you ever taught to share?

<font color=navy>Ahhh, sounds like you treated yourself. At least you didn't eat it in front of him. :)

If you're feeling guilty, why not make him something especially nice? Then you'll both be happy.

I love french toast! I even eat it for dinner sometimes. Don't feel guilty. There's always more bread and eggs at the store - have a french toast party tomorrow. :D

OMG! I am LOL at this thread. I can't believe some of the replies. I've eaten something w/o sharing before and I know DH has (in fact, just last week he made pancakes for himself and not me) I'm sure you aren't so 'selfish' everyday and I am sure you don't neglect your DH too often, right? It was a cute thread--taken too seriously, I think. Actually, though, if I was making it, I would have just used one egg per slice of bread anyway.
A funny selfish story on myself: Once I went to Kroger's Deli and bought their 'high dollar' chicken salad that is pretty good stuff. I hid it in the back of the fridge so DH would not eat it as it was my special treat. Yeah, right! I found it about a month later all moldy!
Tis' better to share and our mommas raised us better than that!:teeth:

Run to the store and get some eggs and have it for him for dinner, one of our favorites...breakfast for dinner. YUM!
That way he gets french toast and you don't have to feel guilty :D

Better yet, make him some of these!!!

Cheese French Toast
Cinderella's Royal Table, Magic Kingdom

2 each eggs
2 cups milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 Tbsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 quart frying shortening
6 each cheese danish cut in quarters
Cinnamon/sugar

Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla. Sift baking powder, sugar, and flour
together and add to egg mixture. Allow to stand for 10 minutes.
Dip cut cheese danish into the egg batter. Bring shortening to 375
degrees and place dipped bread in fryer until golden brown on one side and turn over to brown other side. Roll in cinnamon/sugar and serve immediately.

And invite me over for Breakfast/Dinner!! LOL!

Buckalew: I couldn't believe some of the replies either, yikes!! Like they all have ALWAYS shared everything and have NEVER kept anything for just themselves!!! And it's not like I do this ALL THE TIME, I certainly don't. 99% of the time I cook enough for BOTH of us. And I guess I neglected to mention one more thing in my original post, DH said if he got hungry he was planning on stopping for breakfast in town before he came home. Maybe if I would have included that info people would have understood better. I mainly started the thread to be humorous. I'm glad most found the humor I intended. :D

To those others who found it humorous, THANK YOU!! :D

Kirk: That recipe sounds really good!! Hey, Kirk is my DH's name too!! :bounce:

I don't think your eating the French toast was as bad as Lysoling the house to get rid of the evidence..that was what struck me as very odd

My opinion only tho
