Does POFQ have fridges in the rooms or do you have to request one ahead of time?

Is there a charge for them there?

What time does the boat to DTD start and stop from there?

Is the hot tub still behind the pool bar?

What are beignets? Are these fried dough? How are they?

What drinks are offered for the free refills? Is hot chocolate & lemonade available here?

Beignets are like little fried dough puffs, dusted with powdered sugar, and hot and fresh, they are awesome! We had a fridge in our room which we did not request or have to pay extra for...
That's all I got for you!

POFQ should have refrigerators in every room, encased in a wooden decorative piece on the left side of the entertainment/tv unit. If there is no refrigerator in your room upon your arrival, you can call housekeeping and get one right away.
Is there a charge for them there?
Refrigerators are free in moderate, deluxe and DVC accommodations, so there will be no charge.

Ferries have varied schedules during the year, check with your resort upon check-in. Generally, they operate between 11 AM to 4 PM (every 20 minutes) and between 4 PM to 11 PM (every 10 minutes).
Is the hot tub still behind the pool bar?
Should be.
What are beignets? Are these fried dough? How are they?
They're a fried pastry which is a cross between a cruller & doughnut (without the hole). They're square shaped, served hot, and liberally sprinkled with powdered sugar.
What drinks are offered for the free refills? Is hot chocolate & lemonade available here?
All soft-drinks are refillable. This would include hot chocolate and lemonade (which I think are available at POFQ). This would also include and slushy-style drinks that are available at your resort.

Here are some beignets (half eaten) from the Jazz Kitchen at DTD in Disneyland. I assume they are similar here.

Been trying to get FQ with AP discounts for awhile. Anyone out there that got a stay there with AP discount.

I don't have an AP, but got the FQ with the new discount that just got released for my upcoming stay. I was booked at CSR, but as soon as I heard that POFQ opened up with the new discount code (was not available with the last discount code), had my AAA TA call and make the change. I am just too excited!!!!

All the Moderate resorts have a fridge as a standard part of the room. Don't have to request it, don't have to pay extra for it, just like you don't have to request and pay extra for carpeting or a TV.

I just switched from an AP at POP to POFQ 2 weeks ago for our Oct trip.

We just got back 9/24 from the FQ

The "spa" as they call the hot tub is still behind the pool bar. Hello?- Me...I see SPA and say, cool, I am taking a walk trying to find an actual SPA- you know....massages etc- it meant hot tub! :rotfl:

Heres a pic of the fridge.....cute....huh?

You have to try the beignets- YUM!

Yes- hot chocolate was a free refill- didnt notice lemonade, but probably. OOO- and if you get the hot chocolate-- first put some coffee creamer in your mug- then fill it with the hot chocolate--- OMG! :yay:

I wish we used the boat more often.. the bus ride is a bit nerve racking! If you happen to have dinner at one of the resorts and go back to PI to transfer- you might be temped to hop back on a bus back to the FQ- drag yourself to the boat ramp and take that- it is so relaxing.

We are staying there oct 26-nov17 and got the ap discount for the room.

we had the ap discount for pofq the past couple of years too, the discount keeps getting smaller though.

I love the beignets. messy but really yummy

Is it just late at night or am I just loopy. LOL or BOTH. I just found this amusing! The setting: Happily muching along on doughy goodness and saying "WAIT! We need to take a picture. Put your beignet DOWN!" :lmao: Thanks!!!

I stayed here last year and got an AP discount. The boat to DTD starts at 11AM till 10:30 PM They run every 20 MIN till 4PM then every 10 Min thereafter. This is a much better way then taking the bus IMHO The Bieqets are to die for. The Hot Tub (Spa is still behine the poolbar (poor location IMHO) Do take the walk along the river down to POR in the early morning or just before dusk it is so lovely.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I was booked at CSR with the last discount code that was issued, since POFQ was not available. Got an e-mail last night letting me know that a new code was just released and that POFQ opened back up. Called my AAA TA right away and she was able to change my package to POFQ. YIPPPEEE!!!! I have not been to this resort since the remodel. Thanks again everyone!!!

I am just too excited to be going back to the French Quarter!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: Can't seem to stop smiling!!
:teeth: :goodvibes :cloud9:

The more I read here about POFQ -the MORE excited I'm getting! We're going to Disney for the first time ever and I think POFQ is going to be perfect for us!

:thumbsup2

I hate to ruin your happiness, but POFQ wasn't too good, and we only stayed one night. The room was small, pretty dirty, and the walk to the food court was too far. We had to drive.

Oh well, I am sure you'll just be happy to go to WDW.

What building did you stay at that you had to drive to the main building? POFQ is pretty compact, so I did not think it was that long of a walk from any of the buildings. POR is a different story. That resort is really spread out.

I think these were 1 thing I didnt take a picture of and DS liked them so much he wanted me to take one of them. He is actually happy about staying at POFQ just because I told him they have beignets. ;)

WOW.

POFQ is fairly compact, so if you thought the distance from even the furthest rooms in Building 1 or Building 7 were too far from the food court, I can't imagine how you managed the theme parks.

As far as the rooms being too small, they are the standard size for Disney's "Moderate" resorts, 314 sq. ft. CBR, the original Moderate, has 340 sq. ft. rooms. By contrast, the rooms at all of the Value resorts are 260 sq. ft.

It's always good to do one's homework before traveling.

TOO FAR! :scared:

Where did you stay at the AllStar resort!???

I think it would have taken longer to walk to your car and get in, drive around to the food court, park, get out and go in, than to walk to the POFQ food court. :sad2:

The ONLY reason that I would not stay there again is b/c we had to share a bus with POR- now most people can care less about this- but I am a very neurotic person  and things like this drive me crazy :rotfl: and for this reason- It will be MY loss- b/c this is a great resort!

We were just there 2 weeks ago and the resort and rooms are beautiful, the grounds were lovely!!!!! I wish I would have taken more time to enjoy the walk along the river-- Please anyone who is going-- make the time! I really regret it!
