That'd be pretty good if it was in Animal Kingdom, or even like Adventureland. AK is ripe for a South America themed area.

Yeah, thinking about it, they could have Noodle Burger or Yaki Taco, and basically offer the one themed item, and the rest be typical Mexican and Asian food. They could also use Lucky Cat Cafe. Pacific Wharf is popular and I doubt they change the offerings much. The sourdough will not go away.

I've never even heard of "Baymax" or "Big Hero 6." I guess Disney is going after some young demographic that I'm totally out of touch with.

Well, we don't know for sure, but I don't think indications were that that would be happening. The whole point of layering San Fransokyo is that it is already San Francisco - easy cahnge really.

Big Hero 6 came out in 2014 and is kinda based on a Marvel comic book, though pretty heavily changed. It's a good movie though!

I liked Big Hero 6. As long as the theming is well done, and not slapped together, I will be ok with it. I am coming around on Tiana's Place. Still not a fan of the ride, but alas Disney didn't ask me.

I mean - Hiro's brother died when Professor Callaghan set up an explosion in order to steal his nanobots technology. And Callaghan was filled with rage and wanted revenge. Hiro was also filled with rage for the death of his brother. All balanced with how cute and innocent Baymax was.

Still - being a superhero is dangerous. I think Kick-*** was far more realistic. Or Leapfrog breaking his legs on She-Hulk.

I wouldn't say that the movie was cynical - the bad guy was for sure. Hiro kinda was, but he grew and got over that through the course of the movie. I would probably call the message of the movie anti-cynical, with a good, positive message. It's not like it was an X-Men comic!

Some updated paint or graphics, slight menu alterations or naming of dishes that otherwise remain the same. The parks blog article said "In fact, the film designers took inspiration from the exterior of the original French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square when designing Tiana’s Palace for the movie"... which reads almost like they are giving themselves an opening to do minimal updates b/c oh hey - French Market was ALREADY the inspiration for the movie restaurant.

I just looked around the web and found what I believe to be the concept art you're talking about. Am I correct that the short bridge between the obelisk (whatever that thing is called) and Pacific Wharf is going to be turned into a mashup between a torii gate and the Golden Gate Bridge?

Yep. It looks terrible. I really like that bridge and how unobtrusive it is.

Honestly, French Market seemed like it could use a good deep cleaning last month. So if this is just an excuse to deep clean, I guess yay?

I never trust concept art, but man, that is going to be a mess if they have to close down that area to install a super tall structure the way the art appears. I wonder if it's going to be far shorter than it appears (the trademarked forced perspective).
