French Market is changing menu

I think it's great to add healthy menu choices, however, considering that there are many unhealthy options also available throughout the park, I'm disappointed that they would take off one their better items such as the fried chicken. For fried chicken it was not greasy and very fresh tasting.

I do wish they would make their popcorn healthier. I did not like the taste of whatever it was doused with and my hands were just full of grease!

I always take the skin off the fried chicken, but it was still good. My son and I could share one of those meals and still have food left over.

I agree, leave the fried chicken alone, and sandwich's, too, adding more menu options, that are of a vegetarian nature, is great too, just please not at the expense of the tasty dish's that other people enjoy, and maybe even crave.

I have no problem with adding healthier choices to any menu or even veggie options, but the rest seemed to sell well so why not add to the menu rather then change the whole thing.

Although as good as it was there wasnt much counter space that I recall...it might be a space issue as well.

 Gasp!!!! Pretty soon they will be taking away my beloved corn dogs!!!!!!!! :(

:rotfl2: I was just going to post that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We must start a protest!!! Add all the healthy stuff you want, just don't take way any of our favorites!!!!!!!!

Oh I am so sad. French Market is one of my favorite restaurants. I never get the fried chicken, but DH does. I always get the beef stew in the bread bowl, I so hope that stays.

Since they are hosted by Stouffers (unless that is changing too:confused3 )I wonder if they would start carrying lasagna and other pastas and the like....

I am all for adding more healthier options. Thought it was odd they had a grilled chicken on the KIDS menu but not the adult.

Someone posted pictures of the new menu on another message board today. Credit to "MasterGracey" for this info.

Personally, I want to try EVERYTHING in the new menu! It all sounds pretty good. The salmon creole and citrus chicken look especially interesting. On the downside, the prices are higher. More in line with the offerings at the Plaza Inn. If the portions are just as big as Plaza Inn portions, I won't mind at all. :)

I don't know why they can't make a healthier fried chicken (skinless, non-transfat, perhaps baked?).

I hope that citrus chicken isn't the same as what is served at BB on kids menu.

Ut-Oh what's wrong with the citrus chicken at BB? It sounds yummy.

FYI - if you want to see pictures of the menu's Miceage's Dateline Disney has them.

wow well maybe I will just skip this place now.. *shakes head* all well guess ill go to the other place for the fried chicken

Well the new menu might fit the theme a bit better for New Orleans Square..but it doesnt sound that great to me....Its off to the Plaza Inn.

It tastes more parboiled than roasted. Kind of like when you make a chicken with a little too much liquid and it winds up more parboiling than roasting. It comes out real light, tastless. The citrus is nothing special. My kids each took exactly one bite. I tried it to see what the problem was. It wasn't horrible, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat it.

My guess is that business will be down at the French Market pretty quickly and we will silently see some of the favorites back on the menu.

Again with a lack of vegetarian options. (meaning there is only 1 vegetarian entree, compared to the multiple meat eater options)

I thought I'd give you guys the description from the photo:

Yes, it is Vegetarian, but it is only 1 option compared to the amount of meat entrees. So I would say that there is a lack of vegetarian options.

We've found that it is sad going to disneyland with friends, and there are endless options for meat eaters, but for vegetarians you get salad, pasta, cheese pizza or a veggie burger as pretty much your only option.

The French market used to usually have a vegetarian soup of the day, plus the salad and you could get the pasta with marinara to make it vegetarian.

With the new menu it's just the new pasta.
