I just read on MiceAge that The French Market in NOS is going to be closed until Thursday so they can change their menu to more "healthy" choices.

Unfortunately, for you fried chicken fans, this item will disappear as well as their other sandwiches. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Stay tuned.

oh ok what other places have that fried chicken lol capt bane just said better find another place that can get his fried chiken lol

Certainly fine if they want to add some healthy choices, but that was my favorite place in the park - great location too. Why change something that was working?

Thank you DangerMouse...We'll be eatting a least one lunch at the Plaza Inn.

I hope they don't take away the French Dip sandwiches. :( They are some the best ones I've had!!!

NOOOOOOOO!!! :( The fried chicken is my kids' favorite meal at Disneyland! And we didn't eat at the French Market when we were there earlier this month- the first night was a Grad Night and I didn't realize it closed early (the restaurant, not the park). So we went to eat at 8 and it was closed! Wahhhh! They were sad- no fried chicken. There we go, being all in a Disney rut...

Guess it's Plaza Inn in the future! Hopefully they won't take that away too.

man i hope they dont take all the good food away and make the menus like the princess lunch and dinner..then i will not be eatting in the park.. leave my gressy fried foods alone. lol

The fried chicken at the Plaza Inn is really good. Too bad they're getting rid of it, though, at the French Market. That's a nice place to eat, and it was so good there, too.

That is too bad that the French Market is no longer going to provide dishes that are very popular. Who died, and made them the food police? anyway, luckily other restaurants serve chicken too, but what other menu items will be eliminated?

leave my greasy fried foods alone. lol

That is funny! I like that, and I agree as well. Although somewhere in a large or not so big chicken coop, there are many a eatin chicken that is taking a sigh of relief, which I can understand that.

WHY DISNEY, WHY?! First the vegetarian stew in the bread boule, now this??? I hope the new options are good!

Food police................My thoughts exactly!!
Someone was complaining the other day about the Hungry Bear's hamburgers. And I thought to myself, that it is no wonder. They have taken so much fat out of the the patties, that now they are like hockey pucks. :rotfl:

 Gasp!!!! Pretty soon they will be taking away my beloved corn dogs!!!!!!!! :(

Here's the quote from MiceAge:

The French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square closed today until to allow for a change in their menu. The new menu will no longer feature Fried Chicken or Sandwiches, but instead feature a "Healthier" menu featuring American and Cajun-Creole items.

I hope they bring back some salads. Years ago, I'm talking maybe 20 or so, they used to have a "California Fruit Salad" that was a bed of lettuce with huge pieces of fresh fruit. It was delicious on those hot summer days.

I love corn dogs too!, all beef please, might have to sneak that into DL ;) he!he!
That is so true, that beef can only be so lean, then it will not make for a tasty burger, it is very important to have some fat in hamburger meat, otherwise a hockey puck it shall be!:( YUCK! they should not be overcooked either, I would rather my burger be a tiny bit red in the center, then taste like dry wall,(well what I would imagine it to taste like anyway, for I have not eaten any drywall lately ;)

Oh dear- I was actually excited about this- only because I was hoping for some good vegetarian options- don't get mad at me.

Does anyone know where we could find the new menu? I suppose it is not out yet.

Sorry all of you for your loss. It's too bad that they couldn't strike a balance- who knows maybe they will.

It would be nice if they added more veggie options, without taking the good stuff away

No one should get mad about it. :) It's the right thing to do. I think with good tasting healthy options, people will have more energy to enjoy the parks, etc., etc.
