Freezing at Disney World

I flew home from Xmas break in TN where it was like 18, mumbling under my breath that I couldn't wait to get back home! And this is what I came home to. Gotta laugh.

I'm ready for it to end so I can walk to class without being miserable!

Maybe the story is true how Blizzard Beach came to be ;)
I would be sooooooo mad if I was in Disney right now, I'm sorry for it to be that cold no thanks. I have been there a couple of times in December and it was chilly thats one thing but to be on vacation there right now would just be a bummer :sad2:

This is so discouraging hearing how cold it is in Florida. Isn't there any place where I could move and not fear the cold? I hate winter and I hate being cold. DD moved to Oklahoma two years ago and the first year was teasing me about how toasty she was while I was freezing. She isn't toasty right now.

No worries. This is cyclical if you believe the non-global warming believers. It'll be better next winter.

We were there one year when it was below freezing temps. I remember that it had been a few degrees warmer in Michigan the day we left than it was when we arrived in Orlando. :scared1: DD and I spent one morning at AK running from building to building because it was so cold.

I'm used to Michigan winters but I don't usually spend my day outside waiting in line for theme park rides around here. ;)

And people say there are no seasons in Florida...WRONG!

Yep, pretty cold for the past few days! It is always damp here so our 35 feels like 20 or so. Here are some pics of the orange groves in Clermont this morning!

Another problem when it gets this cold in Florida is that the power companies can't always keep up with the demand with everyone running their heat and heaters, and do rolling brownouts/blackouts. I remember them from 1989, and we got a message from the kids' school to dress them warm tomorrow because there is a possibility of them while they're in school. Right now where we are (north of Tampa) it's 32 degrees with a feels like temp of 27. The low tonight is 22, and we've got a pretty good breeze too.

When are you all suppose to warm up? Looks like we will be paying some high $$$ for citrus.

The headquarters of the defense contractor i work for are in the research park at UCF-we frequently go there for training in December because its a slow time for training on installations-EVERY time i have been to Orlando in
December-it has been warmer in Colorado Springs the entire week than it was in Orlando.

Wow look at those orange groves. Thanks for posting the pics. We were there over the holidays and we had a warmer day here in NY with two feet of snow on the ground. After a week of really cold weather I told my husband I need a Florida re-do when its MUCH warmer.

I don't understand how having the groves spray water onto their crops is supposed to help? It just looks like it makes it worse or possible could break lots of branches or trees.

Pretty sure it serves as a type of insulation.

I live in north florida and it was 14 degrees this morning!! That is COLD here! I could not imagine going to wdw and walking around in that weather....I would freeze my booty off.

I'm in NW Broward county. The temp reading in DH's car this morning was 33 degrees, plus it's windy. It's cold! :upsidedow

Brrrrrrr......that is cold for Florida.

It's 1 degree here in North Central Pennsylvania this morning (8:00 AM Eastern). That's not a typo. 1 degree. :cold: It was 0 here yesterday morning at the same time. 1 is better than 0!! :lmao:

It was like that when we went right after Christmas in '07 (Jan. of '08). We wore our sweatshirts, jackets, and mittens/gloves. Not many people using the pools during that time!
