I've seen a few Freeze the Night videos on youtube, including the one by Fresh Baked. After watching them, I'm wondering what all the hollering was about. The only difference I see is there's no one wearing the Mad Hatter's hat. It's still a dance/music party. And it looks like lots of fun, too. Anybody been there?

And I wonder if it will run every night, or just the weekends?

i may be the only one, but i wish they would get rid of the dance party altogether. i wasn't a fan of mad t party, and haven't gone to freeze the night, but the set looks hastily put together and cheap (though i'll admit the marshmallow guy is cool).

I thought Mad T Party was okay for a change of pace in the parks.
If Freeze the Night is comparable, I'll go for a listen while we are there.

I'll go check it out on YouTube.

went on sunday, it's still soft opening, so not everything is open or finished/polished, but it looks decent. it still is mad t party with alcohol, but now it's primarily blue, purple, teal, and white colored lights instead of all the colors of the rainbows. Marshmallow meet & greet is cool, so is Olaf.

There's a digital projected floor where the House of Cards dance stage used to be that has varying scenes that react to your steps: 1) Complete snow that shows your foot prints. 2) Be your own Elsa with the foot on the ground and make a giant ice crystal with each step you take. and 3) be an Ice Breaker and every step you make "cracks" the floor.

on the underused performing arts stage by the bleachers, they have people carving ice blocks with chainsaws. also cool, considering they do it in short time frame and with hundreds of people watching.

we'll have to wait til january when the finishing touches go in to see if it's more improved and more 'disney' polished.

We stopped in Saturday night and wasn't very impressed other than the ice carving - we had not seen marshmallow so we went back last night and had a great time - by far one of the highlights of our trip. The techno was gone and instead they were blaring a bunch of dance songs from the 80's and early 90's so old parents like us could really get into it with our kids. DD5 had a blast dancing with us and even tried some break dancing. We also stood in a short line to meet Marshmallow. It's great that it starts at 6pm since it's dark outside and we can do some dancing before DD5 goes to bed.

I really enjoyed Freeze the Night, I think it really depends on what you expect of it. I never really experienced Mad Tea Party, which is odd since I have heard such good things about it but I never actually stopped by that area when it was going on. I'm not obsessed with Frozen, but I really enjoyed the music that they played and everyone seemed to be having a great time and enjoying themselves.

Does anyone know if the Marshmallow puppet is out when Freeze the Night begins? Or does it come out later in the night? Thanks!!

We were there on Friday. Marshmallow was out at 7pm. I thought the Freeze the Night stuff was all after dark, so we were pleasantly surprised!

Mad T Party and Freeze the Night have some similar elements, but are different. It is still a dance/music party, but there are some big differences. Mad T Party had a live band, which alternated with a DJ. Freeze the Night only has a DJ. There are dancers which come onto the main stage periodically, but they remind me more of the Hottest Deck in Town than the Mad T Party Band. There is also a much larger emphasis on Freeze the Night being family friendly and focused on families. There is less emphasis on alcoholic drinks at the booths. I saw a lot more kids on the "dance floor". They had an ice carver making ice sculptures; she comes out 4 times per night at 20 minutes after the hour (e.g., 6:20 pm, 7:20 pm, 8:20 pm, and 9:20 pm). I thought that was the best part of Freeze the Night. While Freeze the Night was fun to check out, I liked Mad T Party a lot more.

As PPs have said, Marshmallow is generally out at the start of the party. On Saturday night, they didn't uncover him until about 10 minutes after the party started, but on Thursday he was uncovered from the start of the party! I didn't see any CMs making him move while I was there, so he was just a static photo op. They did have a PP photographer in the area.
