I don't know about Freeride before, but I went to the website to check it out, and it immediately downloaded something to my hard drive without my permission, then asked if I wanted to install it (I forget the name of the program). I said no, which froze my browser and I had to close it from the Task Manager.
Luckily, I have AdAware, which gets rid of these types of pesky spyware programs, so right away I got rid of whatever it was trying to get me to install.
My favorite awards site is definitely My Points. They do have that little applet you can download where it will alert you when you're shopping at a site available at My Points, but didn't go through My Points. However, they don't make you download it, and certainly don't download it without your permission.
I tried Memolink for a while, but many of the sites you had to click on for points were of the same type as Freeride. They wanted to download stuff to my hard drive without my consent. I cancelled within like one week or so.
So ... if, like me, you don't want spyware on your hard drive, you might want to stay away from Freeride (and Memolink).
My Points rules!
