Free in-room wireless starting at numerous Walt Disney World resorts October 14

Countless guests have asked for it and Walt Disney World is finally getting with the times and granting the wishes of the plenty as free "in-room" wireless internet access has become available at a number of resorts starting today, October 14, 2011.

It is something that has been in discussion for quite some time now and WDWMagic.com has released a list of the resorts that the WiFi is available in starting now:

* Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
* Disney’s Beach Club Resort
* Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
* Disney’s Contemporary Resort
* Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
* Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
* Disney’s Old Key West Resort
* Disney’s Polynesian Resort
* Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
* Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort
* Disney’s Yacht Club

This coincides with what a cast member technician advised me of at the 40th Anniversary Haunted Mansion "Room For 1 More" event two weeks ago. He was, at the time, testing the strength of the WiFi signal in the Contemporary Resort and told me that they were currently installing it throughout Disney property.

I notice that they don't specifically name Beach Club Villas, just Beach Club. Can anyone confirm that BCV is included? Or do you have to walk over to the Solarium to get the free wireless?

Yes I would like to know about the Beach Club too. Is it in the rooms or do you have to go to the lobby?

You already have to go to the lobby at any DVC resort. So it *better* be free wireless IN room.

I could not even use the free wireless in the lobby of AKL last Feb. when I was staying in AKV! Talk about P.O.ed.

As a DVC owner, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it includes all DVC villa units. If not, they'll be hearing about it.

It's says "in-room wireless" in the article.

I would imagine this applies to the DVC parts of the resorts listed. I don't know that for sure, but I would be shocked if it didn't.

They mentioned the Contemporary. Would that include Bay Lake Towers?

Yes, DVC and Deluxe resorts are getting the first roll-out. Eventually this will go property wide so hang in there if you don't stay at those resorts.

It was free at OKW when we stayed there earlier this month. It was our first time staying at OKW- man are the one bedrooms huge. I think i'll stay there instead of SSR in the future.
