As stated on the DIS:

Free wi-fi is now available at the Magic Kingdom! It should be available at the other theme parks and Downtown Disney within the next few months.
Select the network "Disney-Guest", connect and accept the terms and conditions. You shouldn't have to do this more than once. Covered cellular carriers include AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS.

What does the covered cellular carries mean? If you aren't with them, then you can't use the wifi? I'm confused, will I be able to use my BB there?

Your Canadian provider automatically switches to one of these companies when you are in the US.

You can use the free wifi without being a customer of one of those. Cellular and wifi are not the same. I think what's being referred to is that those are cellular companies with towers near WDW and can be used for phone calls, but that has no impact on the ability to use the wifi. You can use cellular data from then since your phone will automatically switch to one of them in the US. By why would you want the roaming charges with free wifi.

In fact, with free wifi in the hotels, MK, Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon you can just turn off cellular data.

That's what I was planning on doing, turning off my networks so I won't incur roaming charges & just using their Wifi. i was confused by the cellular carries thing. I would only use my phone if it were an emergency. I had to make a phone call last year & it switched to AT&T. It's confusing the way they stated it.

I am at Art of Animation right now, and have used the free wifi extensivly.

There are actually two networks on resort -- one for the main building and one for the guest suites.

The free Wifi at MK and Epcot works VERY well outside, but not at all inside attractions.

My family downloaded the Magicjack app onto our iphones and ipods and used that to communicate while here (no cost for cellular services!!) also there was NO cell service in the rooms at AoA (building 5 finding nemo) anyway.

I just got back from disney on sat.sept.1. We were there from Aug.24. The wifi in MK was awesome!! no probs at all. I didnt know Epcot had wifi, it worked great as well! As mentioned, you cant get wifi from all attractions. just beware of that. while inside most restaurants the wifi worked amazing.

As mentioned, turn off your data-packet and use wifi only. No charges! woo! :)
