Free Virus Scans?

Does anyone know of any? I apparently received a fraudulent e-mail from Chase. I called them and reported it and the lady sugessted that I run a virus scan of my computer. Does anyone know of any free ones? TIA!!

They also have a Free Spyware program (although Adaware from Lavasoft is the best.)

There is also a free one on Panda Software that you run from their site.

Just wanted to agree. AVG is great. I've used them since I got my PC and have never had a problem. It updates regularly automatically and I run a scan once a week or so.

I also use Ad-Aware and Spybot.

Try these two free web-bases anti-virus scans, Panda and McAfee.

Beth is correct AVG is great! I have used it for a couple years. Use it in conjunction with Spybot and Adawars(for syware) and your good to go.

That said I don't think the e-mail really has anything to do with a virius. It could but highly unlikely. 2 things could have occured.

1) spyware...the more likely cuprit and a virius check will not find it so get a spyware remover like the 2 i mentioned)
2) sometimes "bad people" simply send out phishing e-mails...they are random and try to get people to enter personal info by looking like they are legit.
