Free upgrade from Pop to CB?

I am currently booked for 4 days in November at the Pop in a standard room. The next 4 days are at the Poly. I chose Pop for the cost and being on the skyliner. I was just offered a free upgrade to a standard 5 sleeper room at Caribbean Beach. Since I have not stayed at either the Pop or the Caribbean Beach resort I was wondering what this group thought? Stay at Pop or take the upgrade? It is just myself and my husband on this trip.

Personally, with just 2 of you I would stay with Pop. CBR is a large resort which would likely require internal bus system to get to Skyliner.

I don’t think you need to use the internal bus to get to the skyliner. It is certainly accessible by foot. CBR has a table service restaurant & is in walking distance to Riviera & their dining options. But Pop is just a Skyliner ride away from both. CBR rooms are slightly bigger. I’d look at pictures of the rooms & check menus at both resorts & decide which you prefer.

The biggest downside to CBR for me is no elevators. I hate schlepping my luggage up and down stairs so I have not stayed CBR. The biggest downsides to Pop for me are no hot tub, no TS. A free upgrade to CBR I would be tempted to take though. We traveled with a couple who stayed there a couple years ago who loved their stay as they requested and received the section by the RIV skyliner station. That gave them quick access to the skyliner and the dining options at RIV.

I’ve stayed in both and would take Caribbean Beach. It’s a nicer resort. It also doesn’t require transferring to the skyliner hub because it is the hub. It’s a direct shot to EP and HS*. Just about everything is bit nicer at CBR.

*inB4 - yes, I know RIV is on the route to EP. Nowhere near the same thing as a transfer.

I've done both and would take CBR every time. The room size, quieter, better pools, and the quick service at Riviera is great to walk to. We never needed the internal bus for CBR. I do say this as someone in the minority who really did not like Pop but likes CBR.

Is this really even a free upgrade or is it one of those featured offers where you "upgrade for this amount"?
Because those offers are basically the same price that you would have paid if you booked that to begin with.
Only way I'd consider an upgrade like that is if when I booked that resort/rom category was something I had been considering but was not available at time of booking.

Personally I'd just stick to POP.

What are your dates? I’m booked at Pop Nov 15-20. I received an email about the pin code offer and it was to move to Coronado for only about $100 cheaper than the current discount that’s offered. Wasn’t worth it to me. But I would definitely move to Caribbean Beach for free.

I'd take the upgrade! We really enjoyed CBR during our last stay. We were nearer the Riviera station for the skyliner and it was very convenient
