I won a trip to WDW! I don't have much money to spend on food, so I'm trying to see if there's any way to make Disney dining more affordable. Any plan changes have to be made through my contact at the prize administrator. Before I contact him, I thought I'd ask here first. Shoud I try to get DDP, or just do counter service?

We'll be at POLY 4 days/3 nights in Nov., 2007. Two adults, DD-10, and DS-12. How much will DDP be for that amount of time? I haven't done any research yet.

Thanks

First off - Congratulations!!! Winning a trip to Disney is WONDERFUL!

Your party is 4 adults, the DDP cost is $38.99 per adult per night. You're staying for 3 nights so...

$38.88 x 4 = $155.96

$155.96 x 3 = $467.88

For that you will get a total of 12 Table Service credits, 12 Counter Service credits and 12 Snack credits. When you go in November you will still get an appetizer, entree and dessert at the table service location (lunch and dinner) and all table service meals still include gratuity, so $467.88 will be your final cost (so long as you don't order any extras at the meal)

I would make my next stop looking at menus and seeing what you think you'd spend for your family of 4 in general.

Congratulations again!!

Wow! Nice trip - I've always wanted to stay at the Poly!
We've never done the DDP, sounds like a good deal. We rarely make ADRs. But there's only 2 of us. We eat breakfast in the room, keep some fruit on hand, and "wing it" for dinner - but with kids along, winging it is probably not a good plan. Plus November is a busy time so I'd say the DDP is probably the way to go.

Have fun!!!:thumbsup2

Call and make ADRs for places you'd like to eat. If you are happy with what you can get AND you can come up with the money I recommend the plan. If not there are a number of good meals to be had at Disney.

The Dining Plan is a good value for the food you can eat and really makes vacation feel like a treat. You never have to be concerned with price and you'll have plenty of food.

Congrats and enjoy.

Can we spread this over the 4 days we're there, or is it just for 3 of the 4 days?

You need to talk to the prize administrators and find out how it's booked. Usually the dining plan can be added only if the stay is booked as a room/tickets package.

I talked to the prize administrator, and we can book the DDP. I just need to decide if we want to or not.

I would book it. DDP in 2007 is still a great deal. If it was 2008, I'd say no. You'll really enjoy it! Congratulations! How did you win?

You will be able to use your credits any time during your four day stay, but for your family you will get a total of 12 TS, 12 CS, and 12 Snack credits to use over those four days.

and since there's sooooo much food and them all being adults, if they book non-buffet/experience TS's they can share and stretch out their credits and have some really nice meals over those 4 days

We went to the Toledo (OH) zoo last month. On our way in we saw a big sign that said to go to surfchevy.com to register for the sweeps. I went home and registered the next day, and we won! They were giving away just one trip. It was sponsored by GM and The Toledo Zoo.
