Free Transfers to and from Airport

New here wondering if any of the hotels around Disney Springs offer free pickup and drop off from airport? I called Hotel B and they said they did not..

I know of no hotels in proximity to the parks that offer free airport shuttles other than Disney.

It's a 20-25 minute drive from the airport to the Lake Buena Vista area. Plus, there are tolls invovled. Those factors make it a nearly impossible for a hotel to justify the cost of running a "free" shuttle.

The only reason Disney offers it for their resorts is because they are able to recoup the cost from their guests spending money on theme park tickets, merchandise, and food.

And they have the economy of scale on their side.

Disney has 30,000 rooms spread over 25 resorts. The B resort has 394 rooms in a single hotel. Disney has thousands of people arriving and departing 24/7/365; the B resort doesn't come close. Disney can accommodate more than 76 times what the B can.

In Orlando you will find hotels near the airport that offer free airport shuttles. You will find hotels near the parks that offer free theme park shuttles. Disney is the only one that offers both free airport shuttles and free theme park transportation.

The cost for the Disney airport shuttle is definately built into their room rates.

Very true. It's not unusual for multiple airport-area hotels to join together and have a single shuttle. As you say, economy of scale.

The same holds for theme park shuttles. More often than not, a single theme park shuttle serves multiple hotels.

For Disney it is a smart business move. The free shuttles deter people from renting a car. Therefore they stay on site in the Bubble 24/7 while spending all their money at Disney
