Just printed a free voucher for Sea World Orlando :goodvibes -DH is Active Reserves-this is for addmission for Military member and up to 3 dependents! It's a special program called "Here's to our Heroes".You do have to be in the Military and then you have to show proof at time of admission to the park-kind of cool since we are on a tight budget! I apoligize if this was already posted-but I've never seen it-Thought this great benefit should be shared with all the other Military families-This is good for any Sea World/Busch Gardens/or Sesame Place-just go to military.com for more info(hope this isn't against the dis rules to post-sorry if it is-kinda new around here)

Thanks so much for this post! I haven't seen it anyway, and I have a friend (also on a tight budget) that would be able to use this during her family vacation!!!

Glad to hear that-that's why I posted this-My kids haven't been to sea world since they were babies-and then in Ohio-We can't wait :cool1:

Does the active-duty spouse have to be present? DD and I are going, but husband can't come. I hope they make allowances for this - with so many spouses serving overseas, it'd be nice if the families could use this.....

Never mind - found the info. Families can go without the active-duty member, but the active-duty member must register - can be done online. Here's the clip from the story:

Any active duty, active reserve, ready reserve service member or National Guard is entitled to free admission under the program. He or she need only register, either online at www.herosalute.com or in the entrance plaza of participating parks, and show a Department of Defense photo ID. As many as three direct dependents of military personnel also are entitled to free admission. Dependents may take advantage of the offer without their service member, though an adult must accompany minor dependents.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg and SeaWorld San Antonio are seasonal operations that will remain closed until spring 2005. Military personnel interested in visiting those parks should check operating schedules at www.herosalute.com. The remaining parks, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and SeaWorld San Diego are open year round.

What about widows and their children? My friend's husband was killed last year in Iraq and she's going to Orlando this summer.

So sad to hear that-I'm not sure-you may have to call or e-mail to find out-I hope they can

:earsgirl: My husband is in Iraq and I'm bringing the kids to Disney and SeaWorld. When you fill out one of those forms for a free pass to Sea World, do I enter my husbands name or mine? I also wonder if I can get the Disney tickets at MWR on base instead of at Shades of Green. Also, do you have to stay at Shades of Green to get the military discount ticket?

You can buy the tickets at SoG without staying at SoG --- we've done that the past 3 times. Just show your ID at to the person at the little BX in SoG.

When I printed out the form-it said to just show the form and dependent/service members ID then tickets will be issued at the gate(since these are free tickets)-didn't know you could get the free tickets at SOG-I know you can buy reg. discount tickets, but the free ones too?! And then someone mentioned that you can enter your service members info(ie:ssn)-via e-mail so that just dependents of those in Iraq can enjoy this benefit-I wouldn't mind getting our tickets before hand at the SOG-since we plan on being there all week :cool1:

You should put a link to this thread on the Military Board, if you have not already posted there. This is a great find!

Just bumping this so that everyone can take advantage of this offer ;)

Just looked at the dining options and the Shamu breakfast looks pretty reasonable!

Join Shamu and his crew of characters for breakfast at SeaWorld Orlando. During this seasonal event, get up close and personal with Shamu, Dolly Dolphin, Pete and Penny Penguin, and more of your favorite characters.

Check in begins at 8:45 am and breakfast is served from 9 am until 10 am. Start your day with a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience at the Seafire Inn.

Enjoy a buffet breakfast that includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fresh fruit, freshly baked danish and muffins, coffee, hot tea, orange juice, milk and much more.

While you’re eating, Shamu or one of his friends will stop by your table to mingle, pose for photographs and sign autographs. Be sure to join the fun when Shamu and Crew ask you to get up and dance with them!

Park admission is required but not included. Prices are $14.95 plus tax for adults and $9.95 plus tax for children ages 3-9. Children under the age of 3 are free but require reservations.

Passport members (Platinum/Gold/Silver) receive a 10% discount on each guest – up to six per reservation.

We have purchased our Disney Tickets at our local base, because they were actually cheaper than SOG. I would check with your MWR office. You can enter either name, as long as you have an ID. You do not have to stay at SOG in order to purchase the tickets.
I dont believe SOG will issue the free SW tickets, you will have to get those at SW on the day of your visit.
