I have a friend at work who says she can get me free WDW passes. A family member of hers works for WDW or something and says she get free passes all the time for herself and friends. I'm just wondering what kind of passes these would be, one day passes, park hoppers?? Would we have trouble using them? Anyone else ever gotten free passes from an employee of WDW?

Could be a good thing, but accept them with a grain of salt. Disney isn't exactly generous with park admissions, even to CMs.
Perhaps your connection is at the executive level, which could be a different deal. If course any break you could get--even one day tickets--would be helpful:earsboy:

I was given free passes from a CM (a friend's brother) but he had to go with us to get us in the gate. I can't remember if they were park hoppers or not.

I used 2 of these last year..got them from a parent who had a relative that worked for a Disney affiliated co. as a thank you for coaching. I read over the tix VERY carefully and there were no restrictions....just one day park hopper passes that we used with no problems...no questions asked about who gave them, etc. Just make sure you look over the tix carefully before you go to see if there are any restrictions.

Actually Micca...Disney is VERY generous when it comes to park admission for CM's and their family and friends (not going to go into details of what CM's get evey year but I will tell you I have NEVER used all mine).

In a nutshell Cm's get two different kinds of passes every year, one is as goin2disneyagain stated where the CM has to be Physically with you at the gate, the other is a ticket which the CM can give to you as Crazy4mandms stated. Either way they are one day park hoppers. My concern for you is that you don't hold out as that being your only option. Nothing personal to you or your friend, but most CM's get annoyed when a friend of a friend of a friend (you get my point) wants tickets. This may not be the case, but just don't hold that to be your only option. The actual tickets (where the CM does not need to be with you at the gate) are only given out certain times during the year so it is not like an unlimited supply is avalaible. The other tickets is more readily avalaible but then the CM has to be with you.
