Party of 3 adults (ddp for 7 nights)

Dh-eats anything
Dd-only no go items are corn and butter-dry bread like her mom!
Me-exceptionally selective!
I often find a kids meal will suit me-however I love a big pizza!!

No meat, I have digestive/gastrointestinal issues and I'm usually dealt with very well in wdw.

Dd has not been to the world for many years-has an extremely long dining request list.
The top one is be our guest (we have breakfast on day 1)
And lunch booked later in our trip.

Dh only requests are jiko & dlux burger
Mine are Hollywood & vine & blaze.

The remaining finalists are:

Crystal palace
1900 park fare
Akerhus
Sci-fi diner
50's pt
Garden grill
Sanaa
Tusker house
Hoop dee doo

There are also a few additional qs requests :rolleyes1

I'm curious-if it's possible to go to a restaurant with d ddp and only eat the courses you wish to consume-e.g. if we only wanted apps,no entrees and only 2 desserts -would we be able to use our credits?
Or is it necessary to order all courses-iykwim?:flower:

Ooops-just remembered:
CRT is booked for breakfast as a surprise ppo-
Dd thinks she will be returning to be our guest!

So clearly that's 6 credits right there:ssst:

So right now you have the regular dining plan (1TS, 1QS, 2 snacks) per night and it is FREE. Is that correct? You're asking if you should upgrade to the DELUXE plan that has 3 TS credits per night?

The TS you have listed would need 15 TS credits per person. With 7 nights, you have 21 with the DxDP. The cost to upgrade is about $41 per night per adult. If what you have is the free regular, then I would say it's well worth the cost.

As to what you can order and use a credit, you can definitely only order the app, dessert, and drink if you don't want an entrée, but it will still cost you the full credit; they won't "discount" you for not ordering all the entitlements. If you use credits for QS, then you forfeit both the app and dessert; you only get the entrée/combo and drink.

If you stick with the regular plan, you won't get apps at all, so if that's what you want to eat, I'd pay OOP for the apps and save the credits for your buffet meals.

If I'm doing the math correctly, you have 13 TS and 4 QS. I think the DxDP makes sense because you basically need 2 TS credits daily, plus some QS.

You can always use your DxDP credits for fewer inclusions. We often skip dessert or get one or two for 4 people. BUT, if you plan to do this at 4-5 of the TS, you may have to do the math to see if the extra $125 per day would be better spent paying OOP for just a few apps and a dessert to share.

Thanks very much for your replies.

Yes-we currently have FREE dining...

I just don't know which way is more beneficial-paying oop for extras or upgrading and then we are all covered?

It's right at $840 for all three of you to upgrade. You currently have more TS meals than your DDP will cover. You're going to have to do the math to see if it makes sense to upgrade or just pay OOP for the extras you have now.

I say do the Deluxe plan. We did it on our last trip for a fun splurge. Probably wouldn't do it again, but I say doing it once is totally worth it.
You can use your credits and food courses how ever you want. You may even be able to do two apps and no main course.... you'd have to ask.
We had a blast trying new restaurants including signatures. ENJOY!!!

So if they have 13 TS meals and 4 QS meals planned, it would make more sense to me to just pay OOP.

So 7 of the TS meals they can use the meal credits, which means the question they need to ask is whether they would spend more than $840 on the remaining 6 TS meals, which comes out to $140 per dinner before tip ($46.67 per person per meal). Sure, you CAN get your bill that high if you want to order the most expensive things -- but is that would you would normally do?

If you would normally spend that much -- then go for it and get the upgrade. While you're at it, you might as well try for some more signature restaurants so that you're not leaving some of the meal credits on the table. Just know that the deluxe dining plan is A LOT OF FOOD. Three appetizers, three entrees and three desserts at every meal is a ton.

It's a special trip with dd1 as she hasn't been to wdw since 2005 and never stayed onsite.......
On our first trip I didn't even know Disney hotels existed :rolleyes1
