Free Photobook

When I did mine, I just clicked in the area for the text and then it brought up a window that had font and the size under the area that you type in.

I did one photo book last month, but I got an e-mail and it said they will be charging Canadians and UK residents for shipping now. I haven't received my book yet. Too bad I didn't know that when I made the book-I only put AK and Epcot in that book. I was going to do MK and DHS this month. I should check into the shipping costs.

How did you get it to insert in the book then? I could get the box up, but then what to do with it I had no clue, except to x out

These are not very good, but here they are:
This is the cover. It's roughly 8.5" x 11" and not hard bound. More like a magazine than a regular photo book

Thanks for sharing. while it may not be as spectacular as some of the photobooks, it is free.

The last time I created a nice bound book it was over a $100. I just don't have that right now so this will be a nice way to let my friends see my pictures besides posting them on facebook. :)

Not only that, now my 11 year old daughter wants to make 1 a month for herself, and to give to her friends.

It doesn't cost the kids any material, yet gets them to be creative and thinking, and they have lots of fun! Can't beat that for free!

My daughter had asked about this. I have no knowledge of this but just assumed they would only ship one book per address. Will they ship more than one book per address?:confused3

I had told my daughter she could use her Grandmother's address to ship a book to.

Did you try highlighting the text you want to change? I think you have to type something, then highlight it and use the drop down menus on the box to change font and size

why would you bother with these? They will not stand the test of time. If I'm going to take the time to preserve my photos, I want to make sure they will be around for my children and grandchildren to enjoy. JMHO.

My thoughts exactly!

I'm not sure what photobook you picked. When I did mine above/beside or underneath the photo was a small rectangular box for typing text. I clicked on the rectangle and up popped another box to type the text in. I would go below that box and change the size (it was automatically set to 8) I think I picked either 12 or 14. Then I typed what I wanted and then closed the text box.

I understand, I guess it depends what the purpose you have is. If the kids are making them for fun or you want to make it for the kids knowing it won't last long it's great. It depends on what your time is worth making them. I make photobooks all the time but I only make quality bound, hardcover books because I want them to last. I've been making them for my sister (now 9) for years, she keeps them nicely on her bookshelf and takes them out to look at herself or with her friends. For the amount of time I spend working on them I want them to last, and the ones I have made should do that. I wonder how long it took people to make one of these start to finish (uploading, placing pics, etc) because that would determine if I did one or not. :confused3

I'd say about 2 hrs.

I had problems - photos weren't arranged properly before uploading (sideways) and I also forgot to save it and then the computer froze. I found the upload time fairly fast.

The book automatically adds the photos into it. I did move them around a bit and add the text.

I haven't received the book yet, so I don't know if it's worth the work yet.

Thats what I did, just x'd it out, but the words didn't show up in the book. I was having problems with the screen freezing too, so maybe thats why.

I did one and I was disappointed at the quality. To call it a book is stretcing things quite a bit. The OP said it was more of a magazine and that is a much better description.

It took a long time to make. The site is pretty clunky but once I got the hang of it it wasn't too bad. I don't think I will do any more of these, I just have no use for something like that.

Yes, they should. I received 1 per E-MAIL address last month. And the 4 e-mail addresses all listed our home address for mailing.

Sorry for the delay in providing a photo of one of the books made.

Here's a scanned image from the one made for my son. I choose the style of book called "scrapbook".

The OP was nice enough to share an item that was FREE. and they are not for keeping for long lasting pictures, they are for the novelty and to give to the kids for fun.

I am sure my DD will enjoy hers, I just ordered it.

If it was still free for me then I would continue to make them. Now that they are charging shipping ($2.99) for Canadian and UK residents, I won't bother.

My niece enjoyed the one I made for her. I wish I had the time to make the younger niece one before they started to charge shipping.

I just got an email yesterday that now you can get 4 free books a month, but you will now have to pay shipping on each one. (2.99). I doubt we'll make them anymore if we have to pay shipping.

:cool1:

The book is so cute, the pages are way thicker than a magazine. Reminds me of those fancy books where they print the schedule for continuing education classes for nurses at work.

I think they are way worth more than $2.99 for shipping and handling!

My husband loved it so much, that he took it to work to show everyone!! lol

just 12 days till we leave to orlando again!! pop century!! yay!!
