Free parking question

I am new to Disney. How do the parking attendants at the Disney parks know that you are a resort guest and not to charge for parking? Do they scan your magic band? Are you issued a parking sticker?

Your MagicBand shows that you are staying at a Disney resort. Right now some Guests are still receiving paper parking passes, others are not. I haven't been offered a paper parking pass since October and I have stayed onsite 3 times since then. The parking fee for a day Guest is $17/day and you can park hop without paying again.

I would think a paper pass would be quicker than having to scan the magic band. I am staying at Old Key West. I hope they still use paper!

You have to stop at a stop sign when approaching the parking booths. There aren't lanes specifically for resort Guests. The paper pass might be a few seconds faster. It wouldn't take any longer to scan a MagicBand than it would to take a form of payment. You could always just ride the bus and avoid parking!

Sorry to hijack the thread but if I pay, then go to my offsite resort for a nap, then come back - I don't have to pay again?

Just keep your receipt to show that you already paid for parking that day.

If you don't qualify for free parking, you only have to pay 1 time per day. Whether you go back to your hotel, stores, another park, etc.. Just keep the paper they give you and it'll waive any other parking fee for that day
