Does anyone know of anywhere to legally park for free, or cheaper than park parking? Our hotel is about 5 miles away (it was the closest one we could afford) and doesn't offer a shuttle. I have it budgeted for parking, but if we can save some money in that territory, that would be great!! Thanks again :)

Can you take ART? (Anaheim Rapid Transit) I would look into that. It would be cheaper then parking.

Thinking of your hotel...did you try the Motel 6? It's supposed to be a VERY nice motel, it was the first that got renovated to Euro-style furnishings, and it's walkable, with free parking, and it's generally pretty inexpensive.

I'm sure many of us would be happy to help you find a closer hotel in your price range if that's at all possible.

But for your question, no, there's no free parking.

Are you sure you can't find anything closer than 5 miles? Have you tried Hotwire, Priceline, or LMTclub?

You might also see if you can find tickets that include parking. I know that some tickets purchased through AAA includes theme park parking.

Downtown Disney parking is free for 3 hours or 5 with validation. Of course the terms aren't good for people trying to get around paying for theme park parking since they start charging $6/hr after that, up to $30 a day.

no real free parking around Disneyland. Helpful if we knew where you were staying.
If ART is not within walking distance of your hotel. Try Metro
But at Disneyland time is money so you will know if the extra hassle is worth it.

I looked into the motel 6 at main gate and they are sold out during the days we are there. I am all for finding a closer hotel if anyone has any luck. We will be there December 23 thru January 4. I am hoping for 800$ total for a hotel that includes breakfast and is close enough to walk.

OCTA Route 50 serves Katella, but takes at least 20 minutes from your hotel, plus a walk from Katella and Harbor. If your group is big enough, paying to park will be cheaper. Plus way quicker.

Google free parking near Disneyland and you won't find anything good.

Do you happen to have AAA? Or know someone who does? If so buy your tickets there and they include free parking.

Have you figured out if the hotel has some nights available during your stay? If you split your stay, that's fewer days paying for parking.

That's not happening. 12 nights during Christmas break? Heeeheee

Whoa... Under $70 a night. Nope, but I will be there the same timeframe (Dec 20-Jan 3.)

If you have more than 3 people, it will be cheaper to park than shuttle.

Oh dear, I didn't realize it was so soon, so long of a vacation, such a budget, and that it was over two of the biggest holidays of the year. :upsidedow

That is a pretty long trip. Will you be at Disneyland all those days? If so, I would think about getting Annual Passes and it would have free parking since you would need to get the premium pass. You would also be able to get Annual Pass discounts inside the park.

I did get a good deal on priceline for our June trip that was slightly more than $400 for 6 nights. It was not a hotel in walking distance but the local bus ride I looked at did seem pretty good. DL was about 3 miles away.

We are getting the SoCal CityPasses and then upgrading for the extra 2 days. The rest of the trip will be used doing other things, so it is only 5 days paying for parking, just hoping to save 100$. We originally booked the Super 8 within walking distance, but it is literally a 700$ savings between the two, so well worth the parking cost. Just thought it was worth an ask :)

Basically everything in and around Disneyland has been monetized, including parking. Obviously the city of Anaheim won't allow street parking anywhere around the park. Any business with a parking lot will keep an eye on who is parking and will tow.

I noted that Downtown Disney parking is free for a short visit, but that's designed for someone getting a meal or watching a movie.
