I am confused about when parking is free at the parks. Can anyone clarify under which situations parking would be free?

DVC member staying at DVC resort?

DVC member staying at another hotel such as All Stars?

DVC member staying off site?

Annual passholder staying on site or off?

No DVC or annual pass but staying on site at any of the Disney hotels?

Thanks for your responses.

DVC member at DVC resort-free
At any onsite hotel-free
AP holder-free, regardless of where staying
DVC off site-I believe is free, but am not 100% sure.
As for your other scenarios, I have experienced all of them firsthand.

OOOHHH, I can feel the double digits coming on strong!

There was recently a post from a DVCer who was staying off WDW property. They tried to get him to pay for parking, he protested, and they let him go in without paying. But people on this board said he should have paid because he was not staying on property.

The only scenario above where you would pay for parking, is a DVC member staying off-site.

free parking is not a dvc members perk, only free valet parking at dvc resorts only.

free parking at the parks are for anyone staying on disney property.

ap holders get free parking whether they are staying on the properity or not.

dvc members must be staying on any disney properity to get free parking, this falls under the rule that any disney guest staying on disney properity gets free parking

;)

Can anyone tell me where is it stated about the free valet parking? I've looked in the book and the member website and can't find it.

On the Member's Only Site, look under "Member News", "Special Member Offers".

Here is the text:

Valet Parking at the Walt Disney World® Resort
Disney Vacation Club Members are not charged for valet parking at Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Resort or Disney's Wilderness Lodge, regardless of where you're staying. You must present your Disney Vacation Club Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID with your "DVC Member" designation on it when leaving your vehicle to be parked.
Members will be charged the daily fee of $6.00 for this service at any other valet parking operation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Once you've paid for the valet service, you'll receive unlimited valet parking for the remainder of the day. Whether or not you are charged to valet park, gratuities are still appropriate. There will be no charge for guests with disabilities who have the proper permits.

If you are DVC member staying at VB and you drive up to the parks, you park for free. They see the VB parking pass on dash and just waive you in.

Just to clarify, if you are staying onsite at ANY WDW resort, you don't have to pay for parking at the parks (this includes DVC resorts). Being a DVC member does NOT get you free parking at the parks, but staying at a WDW resort does. Annual passholders also get free parking at the parks. Everyone besides current onsite guests and AP holders has to pay.
