free parking after 6pm?

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there was free parking at Universal Studios after 6pm (presumably after the parks had closed and to get people into citywalk). Is this right? I can only find "free parking" for seeing a movie at the universal cineplex after 6pm. I'd like to go to dinner but would hate to pay parking fees for that privilege. Thanks for your help.

Yes that is true. We go all the time for dinner at CityWalk, and parking is free after 6pm.

It really depends on when the parks close. The day after Thanksgiving, the parks didn't close until 9:00 PM and they were still charging for parking at 7:00 PM. We had been over at Disney until 7:00 and then drove to universal, so we got there after 7:00 and they were still charging. We have annual passes so it was not a problem for us but I was surprised to see it.

The free parking usually starts about an hour before park closing.
