My question is if booking thru AAA does everyone in your party get the free mug when booking a disney cruise. I lost my previous post asking some questions about AAA. Thanks for your help.

Thank you, yes it is a great deal concidering the cost of the mug.

My fiance and I booked our entire Disney Honeymoon through AAA (7days on land, 7 at sea) and we didn't get any mugs nor were we told about them at all. What exactly are these free mugs and can I still get mine?

The mugs are the $7.00 per day soda mugs that you can purchase on the ship. AAA is giving them to all cruisers who book with them in 2002. If you took your trip in 2002, you should have received them in your documents and turned in a page from your documents booklet to get the mugs at one of the bars on deck 9.

We booked in 2001 and are sailing in 2002. I don't think we recevied any of our documents yet.

Keep in mind you must be a AAA member to get the mugs. AAA does book vacations for non-members also, but only members will get the extra perks.

We're both members of AAA. I'm not crazy about the agent who we're working with since we seem to know more about what's included in uor packages than she does. I really don't think we got any extra perks from her.

AAARGGGH!

I hate when this happens!

We booked through AAA and were told we would get free mugs, but there is no coupon in our documents package for them. Our travel agent called Disney and was told that they would be waiting for us in our cabin. Considering it's a $140 value for the 4 of us for a week, should I be worried that if it's not in writing we may lose out?

I wish they'd get us all on the same page!!!

When I read about the free mugs I went to my AAA agent and asked her about them. She didn't know anything about it. But she did checked into it, and agreed that we are to get them. I made sure that it was written in my confirmation papers. According to her, we will get coupons with our final documents. I should receive them next month.

LisaFB: I booked my cruise last June for our October 2002 cruise. When I heard about the free mugs I asked my AAA travel agent if we qualified since we booked last year for our 2002 cruise. She assured me we would be getting them. You should call your TA and make sure you get the mugs.
I was told that DCL would have it in their records that we booked thru AAA and would have the mugs in our stateroom. Since then I have heard about coupons in your documents redeemable at certain bars on the ship to receive the mugs. I think I also read about people having to go to guest relations to get their mugs. I just hope DCL and AAA get this free mug situation straightened out pretty soon so we know where to get the mugs. Patty

I booked our 4/14/02 cruise thru AAA about 2 weeks ago. The DCL brochure/catalog I picked up at their office had a AAA wraparound cover on it which had a full page inside the front cover detailing the "free mug" offer. My agent called DCL while I was there and asked what did she or we need to do to make sure we received the mugs. DCL told my TA as long as AAA was noted on the reservation we would receive them. I asked my TA to ask if we needed to show our AAA card. DCL told her no. But now I will make sure I take it with me on the ship--just in case.

Thank you all for the info. My fiance and I will be calling our TA first thing Monday morning to ask her about the mugs.

I just went through this process on my January 2002 cruise.

For 2002, AAA discontinued their onboard gift of a framed 3d picture of the DCL ship with refillable mugs.

There is supposed to be a page included in the cruise docs for each person that is sailing. It says that you are entitled to a refillable drink mug and aslo a 10% discount on purchases that total more than $75 in the onboard gift shops and a 10% discount on rental items at Castaway Cay.

The page was missing from our cruise docs. I called our AAA agent and she called her DCL contact. He agreed that it should have been included and he made a notation on our reservation that it was not. He said we could pick up the page at the port when we checked in.

I went, we checked in, they knew nothing about it. They sent us to the Supervisor's desk at the far right side of the checkin area. She looked up our reservations and agreed that we should have it but said that we shouldn't have any problems getting the mugs or the discounts onboard.

I went to the cabin, no mugs, but the page in the docs says that you have to go to any of the locations listed there to receive the mug. I went to Guest Services, the CM looked up our reservation and gave me a piece of paper for each of us that said 'please issue a refillable drink mug' and we took it to the Promenade Lounge and exchanged it for a mug.

We had already booked our shore excursions by phone before I knew about the AAA 10% discount and I didn't want to invest the time to get them repriced onboard since there were only two of us and it would have been a small savings, but worthwhile if they'll give you the discount when you book by phone.

If the page isn't in each person's cruise docs, I would recommend that you have your TA call and have them make a notation on your reservation. It worked for me.

AAA members who book through AAA get a 10% discount on shore excursions? Our agent enver told us anything about any of the discounts! So besides the mugs, 10% off $75 purchases and 10% off excursions, is there anything else I'm missing that I should know about and ask for?

My fiance and I really appreciate all the info we can get. Since this is our honeymoon, money will be a bit tight and anything we can save would be a huge help.

LisaFB:
Nothing about the AAA here - just wanted to say I liked your website - good luck with your wedding plans. Can't go wrong with a Disney Cruise. Hope you and Scott have a great trip.

When boarding there will be a couple of tables set up for Mugs. The first one was in the Atrium lobby and the second one was right before the Promenade Lounge, to the side. You grab the ticket from "Your Travel Booklet" and give it to them. Each person in your stateroom is entitled to their own(four colors to chose from) and I think I recall one of the booklets not having one but since the cabin was in my name and clearly indicated one per guest, the CM wrote down our cabin and 4 mugs.

The 10% off excursions was only for Castaway Cay - not for all excursions. We saved 10% on our snorkel equipt which was $22.50 instead of the $25.00.

The 10% off a purchase was only when you spent $75.00, in one shop. My advice - shop mentally for what you want then buy it at once. You cannot collectively spend $75.00 and get the discount. Get my drift?

Have a great honeymoon. You'll want to go back every year. We rebooked with AAA once we came home. We know more about DCL than our agent but she's awesome. We're booking our own air this time and taking DCL transfers.

we booked our upcoming cruise while onboard for the promotional rate ,but not pleased with our ta at the time we decided to go through dcl directly. at that time i posted a question about aaa but got many replies that made me think it would not be a good idea but these perks are making me rethink the whole thing. they are 7 of us going in 2 cabins so that is a huge savings on mugs alone.so my question does anyone know if these would apply to a cruise tranferred from dcl to aaa and would i risk losing any of the other perks i already have from the onboard booking promo??thanks

After booking a discounted room for my wife and myself at the end of our last cruise, we decide to take my mom and our kids. I booked the second room through AAA. As we had not paid off the balance on our initial booking, our agent rolled that into our new booking through her. As such, we ALL get mugs. And our first booking remained the cheaper rate. The AAA rate was exactly the same as the rate DCL quoted us for the second room. Now we get 6 free mugs!
