I just went through this process on my January 2002 cruise.
For 2002, AAA discontinued their onboard gift of a framed 3d picture of the
DCL ship with refillable mugs.
There is supposed to be a page included in the cruise docs for each person that is sailing. It says that you are entitled to a refillable drink mug and aslo a 10% discount on purchases that total more than $75 in the onboard gift shops and a 10% discount on rental items at
Castaway Cay.
The page was missing from our cruise docs. I called our AAA agent and she called her DCL contact. He agreed that it should have been included and he made a notation on our reservation that it was not. He said we could pick up the page at the port when we checked in.
I went, we checked in, they knew nothing about it. They sent us to the Supervisor's desk at the far right side of the checkin area. She looked up our reservations and agreed that we should have it but said that we shouldn't have any problems getting the mugs or the discounts onboard.
I went to the cabin, no mugs, but the page in the docs says that you have to go to any of the locations listed there to receive the mug. I went to Guest Services, the CM looked up our reservation and gave me a piece of paper for each of us that said 'please issue a refillable drink mug' and we took it to the Promenade Lounge and exchanged it for a mug.
We had already booked our shore excursions by phone before I knew about the AAA 10% discount and I didn't want to invest the time to get them repriced onboard since there were only two of us and it would have been a small savings, but worthwhile if they'll give you the discount when you book by phone.
If the page isn't in each person's cruise docs, I would recommend that you have your TA call and have them make a notation on your reservation. It worked for me.
