Quick Service Dining Plan - yes
Regular Dining Plan - no
Deluxe Dining Plan - yes

WOW Ty for the quick response. Guess i will have to purchase the mugs. Very grateful to be able to get the plan anyway!!:banana:

why buy the mugs if you are on the DDP. The only time you will really need them is if you are hanging around your resort all day and plan on refilling multiple times while you are around the pool. If you have a meal at your resort it comes with a drink. You can get bottled juice or milk or you can get a cup and lid that you can refill numerous times at the drink station with whatever you want. Every meal TS or CS comes with a drink. You cannot use your mugs anywhere else but your resort. So think about it before you blow 14$ per person. We did that our first time with the DDP but quickly found out that it was a waste. Lets say you do buy the mugs, then you get a CS breakfast at your resort before you go to the parks. #1 you wast your free drink that comes with your meal. #2 you either have to go back to your room to drop off the mugs or carry them with you to the parks. We did both. You will find you do not need them on the DDP. The days that you do hanfg out all day at the resort and are not having a meal, you can use a snack credit and get a refillable cup and lid that you can refill all day long.

If we get a CS breakfast on the ddp (and we always get the mugs), we will get coffee in the mugs and bottles of water for use in the parks later in the day with the 2 drinks allowed each on the ddp. I have our mugs every day for the ride to work filled with coffee and at work I have one of the mugs for coffee.
We usually get a cinnamon bun or blueberry muffin for breakfast with a snack credit and that doesn't come with a drink so we have the mugs for the morning coffee. Dw gets up first and runs for coffee before we even head over for breakfast, that is her everyday morning thing. Afternoons back at the resort for a break we use the mugs for soda.
So for us the mugs pay
Looks like in a few weeks we will be buying our new mugs, this time we are not on a dining plan.
Also with the mugs you don't have to stand in line to pay for a drink every time you want a coffee or soda thet will save time.

We always get 2 mugs, even with the DDP, for our family to share (2 adults, 2 kids). DH is a coffee drinker so IMO one of the mugs is worth it for him not to buy coffee every morning (most of the time we don't do CS for breakfast, we bring cereal in have that and cinnamon rolls or bagels or muffins in the room while we're getting ready). The second mug we get because we usually do 2 - 3 meals at the resort, and I like using the mugs for our drinks during the meals and instead getting bottled water, orange juice or milk that we then put into our frig/cooler in the room and use those the next morning with our breakfast in the room.

Ultimately I think we end up breaking even on the mugs, they don't end up as a savings, but a nice souvenier too!

We get the refillable mugs each time. Sometimes when we go we way we aren't going to or (heaven forbid!) reuse our mugs from a previous visit. But we always get them anyway. Usually on our first a.m. my DM will go to the food court to get some coffee and return with 3 new mugs. She says it's her treat! :goodvibes

Are they a good value? It all depends.

When we go we always have a rental car so we stop off at WM or Target on the way in and grab some food for breakfast (in the room), bottled waters, and (until recently) a 12 pk. of Diet Coke. So why do we get the mugs? Hmmm...my DM enjoys a cup of coffee in the morning and I like my Diet Coke. Since we don't usually buy breakfast in the a.m. the mugs are great to get our morning drinks in. And on the occasion when we do eat breakfast in the food court we get 2 bottled beverages to drink later. When we drive to the parks we take our cups, with our morning beverages in them, and drink them on the way to the parks. Then when we return to our resort later in the day we stop off at the food court on the way to our room for a refill.

Sometimes, when it's really hot and I plan ahead, I will take our softsided cooler and fill it with ice and bottled waters and Diet cokes. Then when we get back to our car we will use our refillable mugs for a ice cold drink on the ride back to our resort. Really nice after crossing the scorching hot pavement, especially at AK where we always seem to be leaving the park during the hottest part of the day (AK usually closes at 5 while we are there).

Last year for the first time we used QSDP so we got the mugs anyway. This year we will again so we don't have to decide to buy or not.

Could we save money by not buying the mugs (when we don't get them free)-Yes.
Did I like them better when each resort had their own design? Yes.
Do I have a nice supply of mugs already? Yes
Will I still buy one when we don't get it free-most likely, Yes.

For us, it's also an inexpensive souvenir. There have been trips when it's the only souvenir we buy. We are not big souvenir buyers. And I enjoy using the cups when watching DD11's softball games at night-with hot tea!

Just an FYI...you no longer get 2 drinks with breakfast. The 2011 plans changed the breakfast entitlement to one entree (or combo platter) and one beverage. That's it.

if you have a car & drive to the parks, the mugs can be a great benefit. Our pattern is to get coffee or cokes in the AM on the way to the car. We drink our morning caffeine in the car on the way to the park, then leave the mugs in the car while we go to the park. When we come back after lunch, hubby drops me & the mugs off at the food court while he goes to park...I rinse them out & fill the mugs with our beverage of choice for our afternoon break at the resort. We take them again in the car when we leave for our evening dinner reservation/park. When we come back, hubby again drops me off & I get a couple of mugs of Sprite to use as mixer for our evening nightcap in the room. We easily cover the cost of the mugs in just a day or two.:thumbsup2

I've seen people with the mugs in the parks...using a carabiner to hook the empty mug to belt loop or on their backpack. I asked one guy if that wasn't a hassle to carry it around all day and he said no, they always get a large soda at the park counter service and use the mug to split the soda when they share counter service meals. He said it solved the won't-share issues between his 2 kids, too, since one would get the CS cup and the other the mug so each had his own drink.

I buy one every year also. I have a nice collection of mugs. I however couldn't possibly use them while at home-what if the picture on it came off.

I go for two weeks and it's easy to fill up at least once per day. I always get a drink in the morning before going to a park. Some days we head back to the resort for a rest, so another fill on the way to the room. Then another fill on the way back to the park. Most likely on those days we stay til closing so the food court will be closed on the return back to the room. We also have a few days where we don't go to the park, so it's easy to get a few refills in those days.

I take my niece so I keep the mug on the stroller using a carabineer.

Darn the value of the DDP keeps getting less and less, I haven't been there this year for the 2011 plan, maybe I'll go with the AP room discount instead of the dining plan offer if they even offer it for October.
