free mp3 songs anywhere? need 2 for choir

Hi,
My daughter has finally agreed to try out for choir. She said they need 2 songs on cd for the tryouts. I guess it'll be like karoke. Anyway, the two songs she wants we don't have the cd's. After all the hipe about kazaa and people getting arrested I am too scared to try and download. Anyone know of another source of downloads that is "legal". If necessary I wouldn't mind paying a couple of bucks. thanks!
