Because the prices for 2013 are not out yet, I have a feeling that means there will be an increase. Just a guess though.

Other-the increase from 2011 to 2012 prices advanced the $$ for the beverage coolers.

I'm also answering "other".

I can't imagine Disney is giving much consideration at all to the negligible cost of the tiny refrigerators when making long range pricing plans. You can buy one like it for $70 to $100 and I'm guessing the electricity to run one is less than a dollar a day. My total electricity bill for my single unit home with three people averages around $95 a month and we also run heat/air, laundry, cook, shower, vacuum, computer, lights, etc.. I doubt my full sized refrigerator even accounts for $20 of that. Really, financially, the refrigerators are not a big deal. :confused3

The prices will go up next year, just as the prices for the mods and the deluxes will go up as well. The fridges have nothing to do with it- the cost to add these to the rooms is negligible compared to the cost to refurb any of the other resorts.

The room rates are out for January (I have a room booked at Art of Animation for 1/1-1/5 with an actual rate). I don't think they will be raise rates $10/night at the values, but then again I'm surprised at how much they've raised ticket prices in this economy, so who knows.:confused3

There will be no cost impact on the values because of the beverage coolers, because:

They take up very little electricity.
They no longer have to waste storage space on fridges not in use, cutting down on energy costs.
They can incur less costs due to lost time, workmen's comp, due to injury hauling fridges.
They can divert manual labor to move around a bunch of appliances to jobs that require more skill, better benefits, and better pay.

The big impact on rates next year is going to be gas prices. The "freebies" that Disney touts cost money with transportation that are going to far impact the overall cost than a few fridges.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say that we booked our trip in mid February through triple A travel. First, I had looked online, and gotten the figures, then we went into the travel agent to see if they came out the same. They did! So, we booked a 6night/7 day stay at the pop century.

We were looking to upgrade the dining from the quick service to the 1 table meal per day... so I went online this week, to see what the difference was and our trip,, the one we had already booked in Feb, was a little over a hundred more! I'm glad that we are locked in at the price we got, but now I can't help but to think that it very well could be due to the mini fridge's.

I had asked my travel agent back in Feb, when we could come in and book for next year,, lol  And she had told me that Starting in June the new prices come in for the up coming year. So, I new it's not the new pricing that made it jump 100. Hmmm... makes ya think.

However, It's worth it, I'm just so happy to go and stay on property! Going to be a very neat first experience!

I can't see the prices coming to a plateau or decreasing for a while. Attendance is up and they don't want to lose out on that.
