Free military ticket question

My dh is in the Army. A few years back when we visited Sea World we did the free admission thing. I know that they are doing that now (our next trip is June/July 2009). When we were leaving Sea World we were surprised to find that we could also get a second day free - just as if we had a paid ticket. Does anyone know if this is still the case or was that just a fluke?

Mostly we are spending our time at WDW, but dd16 loves SeaWorld, too.

Thanks for any help with this question ~

That's interesting. We do the free military tix often and I didn't think you could do that since you didn't pay. I'd be interested to hear from others who know. Not that we have time to go back, do you have to go the following day? Our free dining package at Disney starts the day after, so it's actually probably not possible unless we get bored one day at a park and want to spend another 1/2 day there.

do you have any more info on the sea world military tickets? i tried searching the board but it mostly returns the disney military salute posts. We were wondering if it was only active duty. My dad is career retired so we were not sure if we qualified.

Through 12/31/09, members of the military (active duty military, active reservists, National Guard, Coast Guard) and as many as three direct dependents may enter Anheuser-Busch's SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks with complimentary admission. You must register in advance at www.herosalute.com and complete a form, which you take with you to the theme park along with valid ID.

I've heard conflicting answers to this....actually asked the same question myself a few months ago. DH actually called Sea World and they said that the second free day was included....the promo they are running now. I plan to call myself and try to find out for sure. I went one other time with the "Here's to Heroes Salute" and I didn't get the second day, but they may not have been running that promo at the time.

Too bad they don't want to extend it to Retired Military like Disney and Universal have done. (if anyone is listening...)

The second day free must be a Sea World only offer--but be ready if it was just a misinformed team member. I work at one of the other parks and know much about the tickets; and we don't offer a free 2nd day.

It is only active duty military (including coast guard) and THREE DIRECT dependents. To make things easier, those dependents should bring their IDs. We have forms we can fill out at the park if you don't register ahead of time online, but I'm not sure about SW.

We will be using our military free tickets 3 weeks from tomorrow. This will be the first time the kids and I will have our military ID's. I made sure we got them this year. It was getting harder and harder to do this without them.

Hi all. We did the free Sea World tickets in San Diego earlier this year. Does anyone know (or have tried) to do them again at Sea World in Orlando? I'm wondering if the computer system is tied in and won't let us do it again or not?

I'm pretty sure it is. Our tickets have first and last name on them and they did type some info off the ids in to the computer. It's a great program and while it would be nice to visit more than one park per year, I understand why they limit it. ($400 for the 5 of us to go for one day after parking and taxes!)

We were not able to get the 2nd day free and I didn't see any info about that promo any longer at Orlando. But we were able to get our entire family in free (5 of us) I was expecting to pay for 1 kid but it was nice not to have to.

Hi, we're just back from there....SeaWorld Orlando will indeed issue free tix to military, spouses and their dependents under 18. This ONLY applies to military, reserves and Guard. Unlike Disney and Disney Cruise Line, the ticket program DOES NOT extend to those in military support (DOD, DIA, CIA, DHS etc) only "front line" aka active duty will count.

All SeaWorld admissions qualify for the 2nd visit free option--you can return for another visit within 7 days.

Yes sea world Orlando does it. The question was if they already went once this year can they go again to a different sea world. The hero salute is one park of your choice per year.

I called SW last month to find out if while using the Heres to Heroes tix, if you could get the 2nd day free promo.....I was told you can't use the 2nd free day with the military tix. It would have to be a ticket purchased. Great deal either way! I used the once a year admission to SW (06) and then to Sesame Place (07)....lots of fun! There are six of us...my youngest doesn't need a ticket since he is only 2, but I did have to purchase an additional ticket for my 3 year old. If you need more tickets, consider purchasing them from your military base...no tax and discounts! OR...if you do want to take advantage of the 2nd free promo...buy all your tickets from base. It's still a great deal!

BTW...this will be my first time using the Here's the Hero without my military ID. It just expired and we are leaving soon. Seriously...SO much to be done before we fly out. My question.... Has anyone used the Here's the hero without their military ID lately? My husband has his..and I suppose I can take my old ID. All my children are under 10..so they don't need IDs. TIA!

I had to show mine to get the ticket and show mine again at the turnstile. So did ds (he's 10) and dh. I don't know if they looked at the date, they just seemed to be checking names.
