free memory maker question

I just upgraded our package to receive the free memory maker. I never got an email with a memory maker ID number so I can't link it to my Disney experience. When I call Disney, twice now, I was told that I won't be getting an email and that I just link it upon arrival at the resort and I don't have to go to customer relations in any of the parks. I know this is a fairly new promotion I was just wondering if anyone knew if this is true, or how it worked. If anyone has any experience with this or will have experience with it soon please let me know how this is going to work. thank you

I'd like some info on it too. I'm only going for a short July 4th weekend trip and would rather use mine for a weeklong trip. There won't be much use if I'm forced to use it for this one.
