Hi, I had a phone call last night from a virgin rep and she mentioned the free meal at City Walk (she said it was for 1 of 5 restaurants, but I forgot to ask which restaurants) - Does anyone happen to know which ones you can choose from??:confused3

Also, I'm unclear whether everyone through VH gets one, or just if you book some tickets/shows upon arrival?? :confused3 (I have already bought my park tickets through them so I guess I would qualify??):confused3

any ideas??? :thumbsup2 ( I would ring Virgin - but that NEVER works out well!!!:rotfl: )

Hi again !!:thumbsup2

I found a phone number for Virgin in florida, so rang them (I knew the US Virgins couldn't be as bad as the British ones and I was right!!:rotfl: )

Someone is emailling me later, but the nice lady I spoke to seemed to think that everyone booked through VH gets a voucher for an entree and soft drink at one of Pat O'Briens, Pastamore, Latin Quarter, Bob Marleys or (the one I was hoping for!!:rotfl: ) Margarittaville!!!

Anyway, I will let you know if this info is incorrect, but hope this nfo imight be useful to some of you!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Don't you have to attend the "welcome" meeting to get the ticket?

Yes,with all these type of free meals that Virgin offer you MUST attend the welcome meeting to get your freebie. And from previous experience these can last up to 2 hours(if not more),not my idea of fun on your first day for the sake of a free meal.Hence why we only went once.x.

Last year we had a call from the Virgin rep as well and they arranged for the voucher to be waiting for us on arrival at the airport MCO.

That's good then,i have'nt been for a few years and going to the welcome meeting was still the norm then to get your voucher.Hopefully this will be the case when we go Apr 09.x.

Hi - do you by any chance know the name of your rep - as ours said they can't leave them at the airport - so I might email her and ask again as we won't be going to the welcome meeting either - no chance!!:goodvibes

A few years ago, I went to the welcome meeting 3-4 days into our holiday on one of our 'rest' days so it didn't interfere with our holiday so much. Left the kids asleep in bed (hubby stayed in room also). Sat through presentation and claimed voucher (don't think it was more than an hour).

The next year we 'swapped' and DH went, the Virgin Rep got quite stroppy with him because the whole family weren't there-but we had bought all our tickets via Virgin anyway!:sad2:

We booked tickets for Cirque du Soleil from the US Virgin rep about 6 weeks before we left. The tickets were all ready and waiting for us at Orlando airport by the car rental desk, nicely wrapped up with Christmas tinsel on them (it was christmas btw!) with the free meal voucher included aswell. The seats for the show were dead centre and about 2/3 of the way up, best view in the house in my opinion. Well worth it if you ask me.

Sorry I can't remember what the reps name was.

We've never attended the welcome meetings to get the free meal. We just call into the Virgin office with our invoice and the rep usually gives us the meal voucher.:thumbsup2

Where is the Virgin Office as this voucher would work perfectly when we head to Hard Rock Hotel, but do not fancy the welcome meeting :)

When we got off the plane in December the reps were there waiting to give out the details of the welcome meetings ~ we weren't interested in the meal as we weren't going to Universal but took a leaflet so as not to appear rude. I've got a feeling the office is on International Drive. I'll see if I can find it later.

I think its in the Quality Inn on I-drive.

We're another example of having the voucher left for us at the airport - we called the reps in Florida to buy a phonecard, and asked if they would also leave the meal voucher with it, and they did!

we have found that the meal options were greatly reduced on our visit in Sept. We used to get a free meal at Hard Rock which gradually went from any meal to just a burger.

when we went this time Hard Rock wasn't an option. We got the voucher and visited the restaurants included and each one had a special virgin voucher menu which was very limited. Kind of felt it wasn't worth getting and ended up eating elsewhere and got what we wanted instead of what we were allowed.

just something to bear in mind!
