Hi everyone,

Long time - no around - it's been the summer from you-know-what at work.

I wondered if anyone had participated in the free ipod thing - I thought it was a scam when my son first told me about it but some of people on another board I belong to have said that they have received their ipods.

The way it supposedly works is you join, give them 5 referrals, and complete an offer. One of the offers is to join and bid on something on ebay, which isn't bad. Others are to try aol, stuff like that. A lot of the offers are the kinds of things which show up on rewards sites.

If you complete an offer, and get 5 referrals to complete an offer, they send you an Ipod, Ipod mini, or a $250.00 gift certificate for music. Of course my son is after me to participate, lol.

Anyone else do it?

I had at least 5 emails about free iPods in one acct today alone....

are you sure it is legit?

It's ligit IF you complete the offer AND you get 5 people to sign up. THey don't have to complete the offer for you to get your "gift" but they do have to sign up. I don't know about most of you, but I don't think the "Offers" are that good and I wouldn't want to send any kind of solitiattion email to my friends or relatives.

But if it works for you, thats OK. I bet 99 percent of the people who sign up and accept an "offer" never get the gift because they can't get the 5 other sign ups.

The fine print I read said that the 5 referrals DID have to complete an offer. I really want an ipod, so I was looking into it. But I don't see anyway to find 5 people who would do the offers and then be able to find 5 more people, etc., etc.

What most of the people said was that they chose the ebay option - they used a new email account for the referrals, and then got 5 friends to join ebay through the service. Ebay makes you use a credit card to register only if you're using a free email service. Since services like AOL give you multiple screen names, you can set it up via one of them (if you already have an ebay account).

However, you can't create multiples for yourslef and then keep joining, because they check IP addresses. Believe it or not, a bunch of kids on IGN's free board have gotten the Ipod because they were able to get referrals.

The site is www.freeipods.com, and if you need referrals, just ask, lol.

I am in the process of getting my referrals completed - I have checked this out on other boards and it seems pretty legit - right now they have an inphone offer that is free. I need a few more referrals but I will be sure to post to let you all know if I do get one!

This actually is legit. It was featured on CNN apparently, and also Wired Magazine covered it. This company also has free PCs and free flatscreen programs as well.

A lot of people don't believe it's legit, so getting referrals is tough but word seems to be spreading quickly. I didn't believe it either until I ran across conga lines at other boards where people began getting their iPods in the mail and saw links to sites detailing the best way to work the offers.

Here's a couple of the links that I checked out - I hope posting these aren't against any board rules, if so I'm sorry. Anyway, the 2nd one links to the Wired article, the BBB, and other articles and coverage.

These deals are very legit. I have already gotten my iPod and Flat Screen for free. Gratis also just released a new offer a few days ago for a free woman's handbag. Nice gift for the wife :). This site (http://www.freedesktoppcfreeflatscreensfreeipods.com) which is the same as the second site listed in the post above, has links to get to all four of these offers, all the proof you could possibly need, and a conga line. If you join our conga, we will do the work of getting your referrals for you! If any of this interests you, please check us out. We have spent several days collecting information and perfecting this site. Good luck getting your free stuff!!!
