Does anyone know when the free internet will begin? I am heading down the beginning of April.

Maybe it has started already.

Reports have been hit or miss. I wouldn't count on it until it is officially announced.

we are at BCV now and so far no free internet. we were told when the free internet info is printed in the members perk book it will be free. the members perk book runs thru april and then there will be the new members perk book printed and handed out at check in.

we did get 9 hours of free internet at the BWV, the family before us must have had internet and then checked out, when we arrived in our room at 1pm, yes that is right our room was ready at 1pm during easter break we signed on and it stated we had 9 hours left on our internet connection, no charges were on our bill for interenet at the BWV.

Hi, everyone.

We're heading down in May, and I'll need to use the internet on a daily basis for work. From everything I've read here it seems as though the internet is not free to DVC members....yet. I called the Beach Club yesterday and they told me it will cost $9.95 per 24-hour period.

Does anyone have any other information or any experience with using Wi-Fi at BCV?

It's not Wi-Fi, it's cable internet.

We bring a very small portable router with us when we travel. It's a Linksys WTR54GS. It's not much bigger than a deck of cards, but about twice as thick.

We haven't used it yet at DVC but have at a number of other locations.

I do not know if it is free yet. If you time your internet usage right. You pay $9.95 per 24 hours. If you start afternoon one day, you can use morning of next. We only use to check email and such and works fine for us. Just an idea on how to use for less money.

We were @ BCV earlier this month (3/9-3/18); both of us needed to check in periodically with work. The first day, I called the tech desk to inquire about "free for DVC" and was told "not until April".

We connected for three different 24 hour periods - logging in late in the afternoon, so we could also use it most of the next day. Much to our surprise, there was no charge when we check out.

They do seem to be pretty inconsistent

Didn't it ask for your number of your room card? Just wondering how you could log in when you wouldn't have the previous occupants card. Not doubting, just wondering how that happened.

I am assuming they are using static IP's of some sort bye the wall connection.
